Then stay on-site.

WDW is just as much in the hotel business as they are theme park business. Of course they're going to offer incentives to people to stay on-site.

I'm not saying it is gross, but that you are sleeping on a table. I am sorry nothing about that says comfort or great way to end my fun day while on vacation. Hey everyone I got to sleep on a bed that is also our table by day....what's next a mattress in the bathtub

It's soooo much fun queuing for a bus when you leave the parks and waiting to get on one, and then you get the bonus!!!! You get to STAND on a bus after walking all day crammed in with a bunch of people that don't have a clue what deodorant is.

I'm curious. Do you have another trip planned in the near future? If not, why sweat it now? You are putting a lot of energy into this FP+ thing. I know once my trip is over in Nov I'm not going to think much about it.

It's soooo much fun queuing for a bus when you leave the parks and waiting to get on one, and then you get the bonus!!!! You get to STAND on a bus after walking all day crammed in with a bunch of people that don't have a clue what deodorant is.

Actually I usually just walk right back to our room or hop a boat or our car depending on where we are. Depending on where I am staying and which park I'm visiting that evening I'm back on my balcony enjoying a beverage before you've made it to your car. Cheers!

True of any shuttle to any hotel, really.

The only way to remedy it would be to rent a car or get a limo/taxi (at an additional expense to you). And even then..you're waiting in line/traffic to leave the park.

You just have a bit more control.

This is totally true. The one time we rented a car we could have been back and forth several times to the parks in the amount of time it took to get the car from the lot and drive it back.

I second that. I probably may stay on site without incentives but even more so with them. And why shouldn't they add incentives for staying on-site?

Where have you stayed onsite that has had bad bus service? We stay at CSR and the bus service for us has been great 10 -15 for a bus.

I've stayed at PO-Riverside (twice), French Quarter and Caribbean Reach Resorts over the last 9 years. At no time during those stays were the buses picking up at a frequency of less than 10 minutes. That wasn't a standard I was necessarily expecting, but at least once on each trip one of my days at a park was affected because of a wait on the order of 30-40 minutes for a bus. In 2011 at CBR we were at a stop at about 7:00 to go to MK for EMH at 8:00 and watched bus after bus roll by for parks that wouldn't open until an hour later, and when a bus finally came it didn't get us there until about 8:15.

That said, I'd rather use the buses than drive. I always drive to Disney from home since I live about 5-6 hours away and I usually don't move the car again once I get here.

however it is not right for Disney to penalize people for not staying in their hotels as they currently are doing.

People staying off site are paying the same exact amount for their Park admission as on site guests yet they are being basically shut out of the FP system and only get scraps (if there are any left by the time they get in the Park)

nothing "planned" per se, but we are usually once or twice a year visitors, going back about 30 years.

Let's see if I'm staying at blt I exit mk turn left walk about ten minutes take an elevator open door to villa.
Staying at bcv walk out the back side if Epcot, make two lefts, take and elevator walk down hall, open door

So yeah before you have made it out of the parking lot , I'm enjoying a beverage.

If I'm at hs and staying in an Epcot resort I can walk the mile or hop a boat and be there in about twenty minutes. What I do depends on my feet and if they hurt.

The point is avoiding the buses is easy if you want. I personally don't care either way.

Well the people on on site are probably paying more than off site people so why not give them they perks and say "here is extra magic for staying with us?"

For me personally, I've never had an issue with the bus, and that's mostly because it suits my personal needs. So, with that in mind, I can understand why some people may not be interested.

For the most part, we have always had good experiences with the bus service at Disney. We do always rent a car and use it about 1/2 the time to get to the parks. Just depends on what else we might be doing that day.
