We may have an unexpected trip to Orlando at the end of June. Am I too late to get ADRs at any of the more popular restaurants? Anbody have any experience getting ressies jsut a few weeks out during a popular time? I want to brace myself and prepare for some "alternate" choices if you guys think I'm out of luck.

Thanks.

Depends how flexible you are, and what you really want to do...

Many folks (including most DIS members) will cancel reservations up to the day of...

So I suggest this:

Create an ADR for any place you can right now, and call back every day till your trip to see if anything has opened up for your "dream" places.

Keep in mind that lots of tasty plaes (like Beaches & Cream) don't even do the ADR thing.

You'll have a great time, just have hope! :)

Depends on where you want to eat. I had trouble getting last minute ADR's at Chef Mickey's for dinner, but I had better luck with breakfast. HDDR was not available, but I got a decent time at WCC, which has similar food. Keep calling and you might get lucky.

I was talking to a CM about even CRT and she told me she found one for yesterday for a person just last week. She said it is not terribly common but worth checking when you call.

Another hint is if you want to eat somplace and it is full, show up right when they open, and sometimes they have walk in available. 50's has for us and Crystal Palace at dinner (4PM) has in the past.

Good luck!

I am leaving Monday and I just started calling at the end of last week. I wasn't able to get Le Cellier or Coral Reef at any time on any day. I ended up with Alfredo's, Boma, and Concourse Steakhouse. I was able to book but canceled Kona Cafe and 50's prime time. They are all for around 6pm too. I feel pretty happy with my choices.

I agree with tinagirl- get what you can now and keep calling back.

DH and I decided over Memorial Day weekend to take a trip down during the week of July 4th (offsite). I thought for sure we would have a really hard time getting ADRs. Nope. Then last weekend, we decided to change our plans and stay onsite and get the DP. Called dining to make more ADRs (made some changes to the ones we had already also) and the only one we couldn't get when we wanted was LeCellier (dinner- they had a few really late times). Not a problem- the gal checked and got us a decent lunch time. I was really surprised to even get that! Cindy's was booked solid, but then again, I really didn't expect to get that one! I was told by the CM to keep trying 'cause people do cancel.

Just be flexible and keep trying if you don't get what you want. Good luck! :)

Thanks everyone. I know its a roll of the dice, I just wanted to hear if others had luck with last minute ADRs at all, or if I was better off not even spinning my wheels. Thanks for the inspiration.
