Ooh, next Friday? I'm jealous!! Have so much fun!!:)

I did use the underwater setting for snorkeling. I tried to remember to change it when I wasn't underwater. I didn't always, and got some funky colors, but the auto color adjust in photoshop elements fixed it with the click of a button.

colors came out great with the underwater setting...no blue tint to everything.

did you do any underwater video? if so, how did it come out?

any tips for using the camera?

My son has taken a lot of videos with it, under and above water. He loves it. I think they turned out remarkably well.

The only thing about the camera that drove me crazy, was how close the off button was to the shutter release button. Several times I thought I was taking a picture but inadvertantly turned the camera off. That's my fault, my other camera turns off completely differently, I just wasn't used to it.

So I'd play with it a little beforehand to get used to the controls, but other than that, it was great.

So anyone who has gotten teh D10 - where did you buy it? Did you find it anywhere in stores that you could actually look at?

The only store I've seen it in, amusingly enough, is Shutters onboard the Magic!

I ordered it online.:)

I purchased the Canon D10 about 2 weeks ago for our upcoming cruise on6/28/09. I bought it online from Buydig.com for $320, but just noticed they have dropped the price now to $299 with free shipping.

I also could not find it at a local store and therfore purchased online....It is a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but I really like the camera so far.

Disneyfalcon, I am loving all of your pictures from the Canon D10! :goodvibes

Are your pictures in the DCL Picture of the Day thread from your recent Magic cruise also from the D10? (the little crab at Castaway Cay, the deck pictures, and the picture with Mickey?) The colors from the deck pictures are so vivid. Did you use software to enhance them?

B&H Photo also has it for $299 with free shipping: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/605229-REG/Canon_3508B001_PowerShot_D10_Digital_Camera.html

Hey folks, just thought I'd throw in some Olympus 850 pics.

These were taken with the Underwater Macro setting. No Photoshop done, but once I get some time, I will be Photoshopping a bit to sharpen up the color and get rid of the green.

Thanks Smilemom! Those were taken with my Canon DSLR. It's my day to day camera. I run everything through photoshop and pop the colors if they need them. Some need a little bit, some nothing at all. :)

Is Photoshop a softwear that has to be brought? or can I download it online?

Photoshop is one of the better know photo editing progams. I use Photoshop Elements which is a cheaper version around $80. There are free editing progams out there, and cheaper ones too, I'm sure.:)

Thanks Disneyfalcon i'm slowly trying to learn my way around the computer as far as photos goes.

I used paint.net before I purchased Photoshop. It can be downloaded for free. Just google it and you'll come up with a few sites that have it available. It was a little confusing to learn at first, but their online forums have great tutorials.

Here are some photos that I took with the D10 on my vacation a few weeks ago. I have not altered the photos in any way as I have no idea how to do that even though I have photoshop!
