Undercover Tourist Tickets

Yes, just make sure you use your tickets at least once before upgrading. If not, you will be charged the difference between what you paid for them (discount rate) and the Gate Rate. Once you entered a park with them however, their value is locked into them. You also need to do this within 14 days of the first use.

Correct. Also, you must do the upgrades while at least one entitlement is still active on the ticket. Said another way, you can add a day or option on the same day you are using your last entry (or earlier), but not the next day.

Is Undercover Tourist the best place for discounted tickets?

UT seems to be one of the most popular on this site. We've also used MapleLeafTickets.com, but switched to UT based on the additional discounts available through a link in the monthly Mousesavers email newsletter. You can sign up to receive that newsletter, which comes out around the 15th of the month, at mousesavers.com.

Some AAA locations also sell tickets with decent prices, although they tend to offer a limited range of tickets whereas UT and MLT sell a full range.

Thanks for the info. We are planning our first trip and I need to figure out where to buy tickets and anything else I need.
Is there a expiration date for tickets? We are going in March, Should I go ahead and buy them now or does that not matter?
Is there a ticket you can buy to get in fast lines for rides?

I have used orlandofuntickets.com and orlandoattractions.com before. I would recommend going onto each site and selecting your desired tickets and process it all the way up to providing billing data. Some sites will through in a whopping S&H charge or taxes that may really change your mind. So just make sure you are comparing total costs across the board.

Purchase thru UT often. Never had a problem. Above poster mentioned check shipping charges. UT has free shipping.

I checked a list on the Cast Portal of "Authorized Off-Site Disney Ticket Sales Locations". This is a list of all companies in the Orlando area which are authorized to sell tickets or vouchers for tickets and lists about 90 names. I cannot publish the list as it clearly states it is not for public release.

orlandofuntickets.com does show up on the list but orlandoattractions.com does not show up on the list

Is there a expiration date for tickets?

I'm guessing you're asking about unused tickets. As long as you haven't used them at any turnstile, they're good forever (but don't lose them!). Once you've used them, they expire on the 14th day - unless you add the No Expiration option, which is pricy.

Is there a ticket you can buy to get in fast lines for rides?

Disney doesn't charge for FastPass, and the perk is available to anyone, whether you're staying on- or offsite (unlike Extra Magic Hours, for instance). All you need to activate the machine is the ticket you used to enter the park that day. Some rides have FastPass, some don't. The machines are usually near the ride entrance.

You may buy your tickets anytime....the clock does not start ticking on expiration until you use them the first day. Once you go through the turnstile, the days you have on the ticket can be used within 14 days, after that (unless you purchase the no expire option)the ticket will no longer be valid.
Passes to enter the fast line are called Fast Passes. Everyone is entitled to use the FP system free of charge at Disney. You will put your ticket into the FP distribution machine, it will give the ticket back to you and issue you a Fast Pass to return later and enter the Fast Pass line....

I just ran the numbers and it actually seemed like the tickets were more expensive than going through WDW. Are there any perks to using UT?

Did you add sales tax to what is listed as the price through Disney? I ran the numbers from my neighbor (and might be off a little...) but think it was like $27 per adult ticket cheaper for 5 day park hoppers. (And the 6 day was the same price as the 5 day trough UT.) So, I think you calculated something incorrectly!

Yep, you have to actually view your shopping cart on disneyworld.com, to get the true price.

The difference is that I was looking at two day tickets, so it was not much of a difference
