undercover tourist ticket question

Ok, so this is probably a stupid question, but I'm gonna ask anyway. I want to buy 7 day tickets to Disney World. 2 adults and 2 children (age 6). I don't want park hopper or any other additions. I know the cost on Disney's site is $1,031. So...I was on undercover tourist to find out what it would cost for the same thing. Do I have to order tickets for specific parks or can I just get the same 7 day pass that gets me into any park? I was trying to figure it out and it looked like I had to click on tickets for each park. I don't want to be restricted that way if so.

Also, if I buy 7 days tickets through undercover tourist and want to add additional days, will there be a problem doing it?

Thanks so much! We leave in a month so I'm trying to finish getting my ducks in a row.

Tickets are not park specific. If you buy 7-day base MYW tickets from UT (or from any authorized reseller or from Disney itself), you will be able to add up to three additional days and any options (Park Hopper or WPF&M). You also can upgrade to any of the AP options for which you are eligible. Note that all upgrades must be done within 14 days of first use and you must still have days on the ticket to upgrade it (i.e. you can upgrade any time up to the seventh day you are using the ticket, but not the next day).

There is no such thing as a ticket for each theme park, and I have never seen anything that said that on the Undercover Tourist site. I have seen something that suggested that on some other site one time - an unauthorized ticket seller that I saw once had info that had the names of the parks w/the tickets I recall. But there is no such thing.

Can you give a link to what you are looking at?

They are the exact same tickets you would get if you walked up to the ticket booths and bought tickets there.

And yes iyou will be able to add days to them (with a seven day ticket you could add up to three days, as ten is the total you can have on a ticket).

I recommend using the ticket at least once before adding days, as that action allows them to "bridge" the price you paid to the current gate value of the tickets, which allows you to keep your discount. Be sure to read the "sticky" thread in this forum titled something like Everything About WDW Tickets to read more about that!!!

Actually, if you don't use the ticket first, the credit you get when upgrading isn't the price you paid to UT, it's the price that UT paid to WDW for the ticket - which is a LOT less. Not only would you lose your discount, but you'd also get stuck making up the discount that UT got originally from WDW.

To upgrade a UT ticket without bridging is a big tactical error, as the total cost would be substantially MORE than the gate price.

Thanks! So, it looks like I would save $27 total off the ticket price and save the $5 shipping fee. I need to use the ticket at least once but not on the 7th day and I will get the UT discount for the added days. We are staying 14 days, but know we won't need more than 10 days at Disney.

I will go find that sticky thread re: tickets.

Thanks again!

I know why you thought each park had different tickets. UT lists the parks separately, and you select a park to get into actually ordering. But no, the MYW tickets are good for any of the 4 major parks. You can upgrade to 10 day tickets max. It's recommended you use the tickets at least once first, to bring up the ticket value to current ticket value. You can do that any day you are using your tickets, including the 7th day. It's the day after the 7th day is expired, that you can no longer add days. There is an overall window of 14 days after first ticket day use to completely locking-out any upgrades.

Did you subscribe to the mousesaver newsletter as that will get you a little more discount than going to the UT site without it?

I always use the Mousesavers link and it just takes you to a page with all the tickets and all the prices, so I guess that's why I didn't understand the "by park" thing.

True, with the Mousesavers link appearing at the top of the page, you get a complete list of ticket offerings. Without Mousesavers at the top of the page, IMO, the UT Disney Tickets page is very confusing. It would give the idea to a novice that one would select tickets per park. (((Could there be visitors who misunderstood, and actually ordered tickets individually by park? I think Yes!)))

I look at UT both ways, to see how much the Mousesavers discount is, because sometimes people on these boards ask. The discount seems to fluctuate from ticket to ticket, and from time to time. Just erase your cookies, or quit your browser, and enter UT thru Google or such, to see UT without Mousesavers.

Thank you also. I am new to this :-)

The Mousesavers email newsletter comes out the 15th of the month. So you'll have to wait until November 15th to receive the link to UT.

The Mousesavers website is full of DisneyWorld info, including hotel rack rates, seasonal rate changes, available discounts, park info including ride refurbishments, ticket info, etc., etc. There's a wealth of info there.

Please write back if you have more questions.

Don't forget that for any pricing for tickets at Disney (and on Post 18-A of the ticket sticky) the 6.5% sales tax is not included.

Pricing at UCT does include the tax.

Some of the discounters include the tax in the pricing, and others, such as Disney, add the tax at checkout.
