Undercover Tourist raising ticket prices

Yep, knew it was coming so we purchased our tickets this past weekend for our May trip though UT.

Thanks for the heads up! I've been putting off ordering a ticket for my grandson for 2 weeks now- headed to do that right now!

Correct me if I am wrong...
If I order a regular Expiring park ticket today, it doesn't "expire" untill I use the first day correct?

Problem being now one of our group might not be able to go but I told them we will still buy the ticket and just use it down the road if need be

Yep, the ticket does not expire until after your first use. I held on to some tickets for over 2 years and there was no problem attaching them to MDE or use them.

Anyone know approx. what the prices typically go up for Universal 14 day 3 park? We aren't going until June, and I just booked the rooms on my card. I would like the tickets to not sit there gathering interest, but if the hike is usually enough to justify putting it on my card....

Does this typically coincide with Disney's price increase? I bought 2 of the 5 tickets we need, but didn't have enough gift cards to get all of them yet. I kept reading mid-February so I thought I had a little time.

Our tickets came in yesterday.

Typically UT sells their old tickets at the earlier price. It's possible that will change but I somewhat doubt it based on their history. There is a mad rush to buy them when the word of the price increase hits and there are some lengthy delays in shipping for people not heading to Orlando immediately.

The rumor of the price increase has been out there for awhile. UT is pointing it out, possibly to smooth out the demand. When the increase does accure, you'll have to act fast to get tickets at that old price if you wait until then.

Added note: I read it as UT will not raise their prices until Disney raises theirs.

UT doesn't normally raise their prices until their inventory of previously priced tickets runs out. Lately that seems to be about a 1-1/2 to 2 weeks after Disney's price increase.

Glad for this reminder post, though. This afternoon I bought my UT tickets (with Mousesavers discount). Why wait when I have already booked my next trip...

I think UCT is in the know about a Disney price increase and is trying to help stem overwhelming demand once that Disney price increase is announced or goes into effect.

Agreed. I also purchased my tickets (last week) using the Mousesavers discount.
