Undercover Tourist pricing

Maybe I am missing something but there is very little to no savings from Undercover tourist for tickets. Their 1, 2 and 3 day tickets are higher than gate price. Their 3 day park hopper + 1 day free is a $4 savings over gate price. UT 3 day park hopper with 1 day free : $390.74 It says saves $28 over gate price. Disneyworld.com 4 day park hopper $394.00. Is gate pricing that much higher than what is on their site?

Now the 1 good thing is that if I buy from UT and use my Barclay's card I can erase a travel expense with my points where I could not do that directly from Disney.

Anyway my plan is to get tickets from UT, erase up to $500 of the charge by using my Barclay card and then use those tickets to upgrade to an AP for the wife and myself. :) Basically it reduces the cost of the AP by $500 which is a great savings.

Disney typically does not discount 1 & 2 day tickets when it sells them to authorized resellers.

You have to add 6.5% sales tax to the $394 price direct from Disney before you compare. 4 day + hopper is $419.61 direct when you include tax. UT prices already include sales tax.

I second erionm's comment. In order for me to compare prices I would act like I was going to buy the tickets from WDW and get all the way to the end prior to fully checking out so I could see the tax part. Then I would compare prices to other 3rd party resellers like AAA, UT,etc .

As far as I know WDW does not have different pricing on their website in comparison to gate pricing (except 1-day pricing does vary by day you pre-select but does not actually vary by purchasing online versus gate pricing). Now Universal Orlando does save you $20 off of gate pricing by buying on-line for any mult-day tickets but again their price doesn't include tax until the very end.

Agreed with PPs! I just bought the 3 day + 1 free w/ hopper from UT and I thought the same thing at first. I decided, I'd just buy from Disney and then realized when you add in the taxes, UT was about $28 cheaper since the price they show includes tax

Are you using the link provided in the Mouse Savers newsletter? That may give a little bit more, but not much.

Ahh, I didn't realize the tax thing. That makes a big difference. I thought I must be missing something and that was it. Always good info on here.

Yup, I bought an adult 5-day park hopper pass from UT earlier this month for $367 with the Mousesavers discount. I guess it was before prices went up because that same ticket is now $435.59 on the Disney website. Big difference!
