Since the search is down, has anyone bought a discounted Disney park ticket, from Undercover Tourist, and then used it to upgrade to an AP? TIA.
Well as of the last price increase last month Disney announced that they will not let you upgraded tickets bought at a discount retailor.
Disney change the way that they bridge tickets but they are still permitting guests to upgrade their tickets which were purchased at from a 3rd-party, as long as they are not specialty tickets or promo tickets. Tickets purchased at UT should be okay, but the most recent word from UT is that they will only be bridged to the gate price which was in effect on the day that the ticket was purchased, not the current gate price.Well as of the last price increase last month Disney announced that they will not let you upgraded tickets bought at a discount retailor.
Hi There,
You can upgrade tickets. Disney wants you to spend longer in the parks
The change is that they will credit you the Gate Price at the time the ticket was bought. i.e. So if you buy a ticket, then there is a price increase a few months later, you will not receive the new higher gate price as a credit.
You can still buy tickets in advance, even if you do not know the exact number of days, just don't expect to get the new higher gate price as a credit should there be a price rise after you purchase the tickets.
Thank you
Hi There,
Disney wants you to be able to upgrade. We get our tickets from Disney, there are no differences between a real ticket from us and a real ticket from the gate.
You can upgrade. The policy is correct.
We have always taken care of our customers and we suggest you try and buy the ticket you need, if you don't know exactly - be reassured that you can upgrade. If there happens to be a price rise between purchase and upgrade just be aware that you still lock in your savings but you won't receive the new gate price as a credit.
We move our stock quickly, honestly nobody wants to hold onto stock.
For the other possible wrinkles mentioned, we always take care of our customers
Thank you
Undercover Tourist
They can tell when they sold it (be it at the gate or to an authorized seller), who the seller is (WDTC, WDW Parks, AAA, etc) and how much they sold it to that seller for. It's all coded in the computer under that ticket's information. How will they know the ticket is discounted?

I was thinking about purchasing a ticket from Undercover Tourist and then upgrading to an annual pass once I got to WDW. Does anyone have any recent experiences with doing this? How much are they giving credit to you for the original ticket? gate price or actual price through undercover tourist?
I bought a 5 day hopper from UT and upgraded to the DVC PAP with no problem on 02/24. I paid around $128 for the upgrade.![]()
Hi.
I am thinking about purchasing an AP and also a DVC member.
If I don't purchase the AP, maybe I will purchase the 10 day non expiring.
I am going to Disney in September for 8 nights, December for 2 nights and again in April. I will not do the parks in December (it is pre cruise December 27-29). I am also purchasing the TiW card.
Which would be best for me to get and what the heck is a DVC PAP?
I've never purchased an AP before.
Thank you.
The PAP is a premium annual pass which there is a discount right now until April 30 for DVC members. It is $515/including tax I believe. This is less than a 10 day non expiring. If I was going twice within 12 months I would definitely get the PAP. Unfortunately for me, we are going only for 6 days in December and not again until the following December or January. Otherwise I would buy it.
Thank you VERY much!
Need to figure this out.
I will probably go to the park about 8 times between my 3 trips. This would be worth it then, correct?
Do I need the mousesaver code for the $515 from UT?
