I watched the first episode and thought it was REALLY good. Then I watched the Hooters guy from this week and I just sat and shook my head the entire time. Talk about someone who has no business being a CEO of a company. That guy is CLUELESS as to what makes a company run. I think he did the show for marketing and he ended up making his company worse because of it.

Anyone else watch this show?

ITA with you! We just watched the second epi last night. That guy needs counseling, imho. Loved the WM guy, though.

We loved the WM guy too, he really got it.

The Hooters guy, not so much. After that disgusting manager did not get fired, my DH said " I have never eaten at a Hooters but after that, I never will". He could not believe that guy did not get fired.

Totally agree! I would have "blown my cover" and fired that manager on the spot. I couldn't believe he got another chance. He seemed to care but didn't have a clue how to make things better. Maybe the next one will be better. We also loved the WM guy.

All I kept thinking was that the Hooters CEO was very much like the CEO of the last company for which I worked. The guy was clueless, but loved his title and the "things" that came along with it.

Come on! He didn't know that a good portion of the population won't eat at Hooters because it's demeaning to women? Give me a break!

His "good thing" that he was going to do for his factory workers was going to be stopping by once in a while to walk the factory floor? Yep, that will improve morale.

The only good that came of it was the female manager was able to transfer to a less stressful position.

Loved the WM guy. He got it. Next week's 7-11 episode will also be good. Oprah had the WM and 7-11 guy on her show before this debuted. Both of them seemed to be doing this exercise for the good of the company and not just for PR.

Oh, and the jerky male manager should have been fired on the spot. He's a lawsuit waiting to happen for the company.

I completely agree about that manager on the Hooters episode. When that manager said "But my profits are up." My response would have been "Yes, and the multiple lawsuits that we will lose will eat all that up and more!" If there are decent lawyers out there, they will have already gotten in touch with those women and launched a class-action suit against the firm.
Where was his remedial training? He apologized? ***??!!

Okay.... I agree. The manager was a PIG. However, in some ways I think the manager understood the Hooters concept and customer better than the CEO did. Let me repeat..... He was/is a pig, and I was hoping he'd be fired. Oh well....

Let's face it. You name your restuarant after a slang term used to decribe a part of the female anatomy. You have two huge bugged out eyes in your logo, and your serving staff wear small, tight clothing. Was he really surprised to see something like that among his management team? Hello!?!?! He also seemed genuinely surprised at the public's perception of Hooters. I also don't see how a campaign that features former Hooters girls and where they are now will change any of that.

I also missed the female manager getting a new job. I saw that he was giving her an all-expenses paid vacation to anywhere in the world she wanted to go, but I missed the new job. Good for her though.

I'm sorry I missed the WM episode.

I missed that the female manager hot a new job too. I thought she just got a vacation. I thought that was very nice, but that does not solve her problem. She would go on vacation for a week and then have to go right back to what she was doing. So if she got a new job, that is great.

I could not believe that he acted surprised when people talked about the restaurant either. How can that surprise him?

I watched the first one WM (my dh works for them :)) although I do know a few things about WM and I believe that the woman driver was a plant b/c they DO NOT stop at customers homes and talk to them like that and if they did they would be looking for another job especially with how low her productivity was..my dh can do that in the first 2 hours of his day...plus they can stop at a store and pee!! :sad2: but all in all WM was good!

I didn't get to see Hooters as I thought it started at 9 and it started at 8 :sad1:

They didn't show that. When they were running the captions about "where are they now" at the end of the show, hers said that she returned from her vacation and took another position with the company that had less stress after she returned.

Cheermom1, Undercover Boss is on demand if you can catch it there. It's under TV entertainment.

I love the show but I didn't like the Hooters owner too much.
I saw a review for the show on Oprah last week where the WM and 7 - Eleven owners were on the show.
I can see now why the Hooters owner wasn't on the show.

I didn't mind him so much. He wasn't as personable as the WM guy, but he did try. I think his biggest problem is that it sounds like he never really wanted to do the job and it was just sort of thrust upon him. He never had to work for it or earn it.

I did like the idea of walking the floor, because clearly that is what his father did and it sounded like part of the problem with the plant was that they did not feel a connection with the owner. I do think that Jimbo should have been given the boot immediately. I would not be surprised if some lawyer watching the show decides to approach those girls about a lawsuit against that manager. It was clear from his conversation with the owner that he did not think he had done anything wrong.

Oh, okay. Thanks. By then, my dd was flipping through the guide and I couldn't see any captions. Good for her though.

I really like this show! I Loved heraing Igor describe his American Dream last night! It looks like next week at White Castle will be a good one too!

I like how this CEO did meaningful things for his employees, too, like the WM guy did. The Hooters CEO should be ashamed of himself for not doing more for his employees.

White Castle sounds interesting. (I wonder if Harold and Kumar will show up. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:)

Igor made me proud to be an American.

agnes!

I burst into tears when I read he gave Igor his own franchise! That was a great episode and made me want to go buy a Big Gulp. If you look at the map of stores we are in the big vast on no 7-11's surrounded by areas with tons of them!:rotfl2:

I don't think so - one of 'em is working for the (deleted because it violates DIS guidelines ;)) Oh, heck - I think it's okay to say ... current Administration. If not, a Moderator can delete this part :teeth:

I watched the last 2 episodes but I'm not completely convinced that the boss is undercover. These stores have to know something is up when they show up with a guy with a film crew?? Do you really think they are going to show parts of the show that could be health violations?? I think a great deal of it is staged.
