I didn't leave a tip.
I really like Rachel Ray but on her $40/day show, sometimes I see no tip reported in the amount, and sometimes I see a tip of only 10%. That no tip does not mean that she waited on herself. She was served, and no tip was reported. What's the deal?

That show always bothered me because I felt she was being cheap. I had to stop watching it because it annoyed me so much. Nevermind that, but if I was traveling to all the places she was going I wouldn't be doing it by myself so I felt her situation didn't apply to me at all.

I have never seen why $40 a day for ONE PERSON to eat would be that hard anyway? Maybe in certain countries, but I think it would be do-able. I also don't like how she fiddles with her meals, ordering crazy half portions and stuff, then later she goes out and has 2 drinks.

This was brought up before, so I checked out the show. The one I saw she had a scone and a cup of coffee for breakfast, a normal lunch and an entree salad for dinner. I really think it's a dumb show because if I wanted to save money I could do so by just ordering salads and scones. I can figure that one out by myself, thank you.

According to her book--she answers that question with--they tip industry standard and until the industry raises the standard...that is what they go by.

At 10%--they are dining for $36.36 per day

At 15%--they are dining for $34.78 per day

I misplaced the book so cannot look at it to see how she adds them up on each trip and I forget which % she says she used.

In her real life--she tips properly.

However--until most of the nation begins to tip properly--why should she represent it that way?

Is it also possible--that they just aren't sharing what the tip is?

Most of the time I've watched she does mention with tip.

One thing I learned about that show on the Isaac Mizrahi(sp?) show is that if she is talking more about the decor and ambience then the food, that means it's not that good.
