hello
I have a question about the 2 Disney waterparks. we have the 14 day ultimate ticket and are hoping to visit both of the parks TL and BB.
Our youngest grand daughter is 2 yrs and we understand that there is an area in each of these parks for the smaller children.

Is it possible to find sun beds near these areas so that we can set up a base which means that the older foks can wander off to 'do' the big rides, slides etc with one of us staying behind to take care of the smaller one and to watch/amuse/play with her in the kiddie pool - and then the other grown ups coming back to take their turn - we have a 6 yr old as well who swims reasonably well - under supervision of course - so one of us will obviously be with her - the kiddie area may be a little too tame for her.

are sun beds available and if so do you rent them and are they spread out in the parks or do they tend to be in one 'sunbathing ' area

Hi Lynne,

There are plenty of sun-loungers near both kiddie areas at TL & BB.

They are rent-free.

It is quite common to see towels on them and no people, as everyone claims their spot and then goes off on the rides.
In fact usually there are more towels around the loungers than people.

There are areas of shade near some of the loungers, trees/tables etc - but as you have little one's it may be a good idea to get there early so that you can find loungers that may offer protection from the sun perhaps.

Not sure when you are going but would recommend you go midweek, the water parks can get very busy at the weekends.

Our DD who is now 4, goes on some of the adults slides at the waterpark.

She has been on the family raft ride, since she was 2.

And last year she went on the slide where you lie on a mat and race 8 other people, the CM are great the hold her on the mat until it is safe to go, and usually let her go before us SO SHE WINS!!!!!

Can not remember the name of the slide.

Other than that she loves the kiddie area, and the lazy river, they have special rings for little ones, plus you can hire a life vest

A quick tip - you can hire towels for 1$ each at the water parks which saves taking your own if you're then going to go to another park after but its a good idea to take one of your own towels so you can easily pick out your sunbed!!
I use a towel bag so it doubles up as a bag for going out after the water park finishes.

Your GD will have a great time! We took our DD to Orlando when she was just 2 and the days we spent at Typhoon Lagoon were probably amongst her favourite :) I believe Blizzard Beach is also great (if not better) for little ones but it was closed when we went so I'm not sure!

Just be warned - if she is anything like our little girl you'll never leave the lazy river she just wanted to round and round all day :)

BB is equally good for young children, I do think there could possibly be more sheltered areas for protection from the sun - they often tend to be the most popular spots to be.

Waterparks are great we have taken our children at various ages, 2years,4years,6years and even 8 months.
We have always bought one of those all in one sun costumes to be worn in the waterparks. The sun factor on them is between 45 and 60.
you can buy them in Asda , mothercare, Adams range from £10 to £30.
Get there early enough and you will get a sun bed . study a map and know where you want to be sitting before you arrive.

At both parks you have to get there at opening if you want to get loungers. They fill up very quickly. Especially the ones near the little tykes areas.

What a shame...why would they do that ?

Do they have chairs or is it just a case of sitting on a towel ?

Not very comfy for us grannies - although I don't consider myself OLD - could be a problem to some people though...

just found out they have taken away the sunbeds at TL :confused3 .

Where did you hear that, Mickey's girl? That seems a peculiar thing for them to do :confused3

I echo getting there early to ensure you get a sunbed or chair in the area you want :thumbsup2

miffy2003, i got this info from someone who was at TL when it reopened after th refurbishment. CM said it was to free up space for the time being but they were unsure if the sunbeds would return or not.

I love Blizzard Beach and would definitely recommend it. If I remember rightly it has 2 areas for children, 1 suitable for the really young ones from 0 upwards and another for older ones say 4 and 4upwards depending on the child’s confidence. Our 1 year old loved playing in the water jets and once he’d tried out a small water slide (which he also loved) he was up for going on everything in the park. :rotfl2:

I agree with everyone else if you want a good spot to sit get there early and stake out your place to sit before you go to change just to make sure you get best pick. :thumbsup2

Thank you :)

As long as there are chairs that's OK :thumbsup2
