I forgot.....they let me get a shrimp add on to the steak.....all on the DDP!!!
I ate my peas first.......good boy!!

I found this too.....DW did have the choc. concoction....I had the cheese cake......

This guy was on the boardwalk after dinner......he was awesome...probably a 15 min. show.......he juggled all kinds of stuff.....he had approx. 25 people around him......had kids help him.......he then used DW...she was all embarrassed.....tried to act like he was talking to someone else in the audience.......then he threw a few balls to UJ!!!! The guy never spoke, he had a little squeaker in his mouth he used.......It is a great evening on the boardwalk.......I encourage everyone to go there!!!!

I'm all caught up UJ! Took a little breather during my trip to the "World" - didn't even check email or anything! Crazy, huh?

Sounds like a nice day you two had! I love when you have a waiter/waitress that you can joke around with!

SO, where are our "UJ words of wisdom" (or final thoughts) on this adult-only trip? You must sum it up, buddy!

Well I found my rec't from Big River Grille....our waitress' name was Holly.
She did a great job.....ask for her if you go there.....t

Our last day was Thursday........it wasnt even a last day....

We were up at 6:00am and checked out and off to the airport.....everything went smooth.....we took the car back.....pulled right into the parking garage...they just scan the bar code and look it over, give you a recpt. and you are off to the terminal......

We flew Spirt back home......it is in a terminal way off the beaten path....nothing to speak of in the area of the gate.....we just sat and watched TV.....along with everyone else.......
Dont you love just sitting there watching everyone...trying to figure out their story??? You wonder, where have they been, did they go to Disney,

We hopped on the plane and had good seats near the front....I like as close to the front as possible.....you get off sooner.......

We landed in Detroit without a hitch........I wont fly Spirit any more though, they wont even give you water....you pay for everything....what a joke......
I know all the airlines are going through this, but come on....not even free water?????

I almost forgot.....Cougar on the flight!!! This is the classic cougar....comes on the plane last.....walked down the isle on the cell phone, sat 1 row behind us, across the isle....talks the whole time.....they have to come tell her to turn the phone off......she keeps talking......
I'm ready to leap over the seat and grab the phone........(Like John Belushi in Animal House, he grabs the guitar from the guy who is singing to the girls....smashes it to smitherines and says "Sorry"..hands the guy the neck to the guitar....sorry its a visual thing....LOL)...
The stewardess is standing over this girl, she finally hangs up......I just looked at her with my famous (wife says anyway) "You dumb B..ch" look......(it's a gift really)......So we go through the whole flight.....
We land in Detroit....the plane hasnt even turned off the runway, still going 100mph.....hitting the brakes.....I hear Cougar...yakkking on her cell phone.....
I couldnt believe it..........I sat up and looked at her, she looks at me while yakking......I said "You have got to be shi...ing me"....Dont worry no kids in the area.......she just looked at me.....she probably was about as impressed with me as I was her.......Oh well.......

Did Spirit charge you for your luggage? We are looking to fly them in Feb. I am willing to bring my own drink for the $13 flights they are offering!!!

Yes, they charged for luggage......I believe it was $15 per bag in advance on line and $20 at the airport.......Remember if you have a stop they charge you again for the same bag....meaning....Detroit to Atlanta to Orlando would be $30 for 1 bag!!! We also paid in advance for our seats.....$10 ea. for those....you dont have to pay in advance but they wouldnt guar. we would sit together......I know others who have flown Spirit and did not pay for seats and were all seated together.....(4 adults, DTW to Ft. Laud. to Cancun..all flights were seated together...)
I understand the low airfare is a great deal.....keep in mind a lot of the airlines are showing flights they wont fly unless they sell at least approx. 90% of the seats......that was our case.....we had nonstop to Olrando.....they changed us to a 7 hour lay over in Ft. Lauderdale.......NOT.....
Just realize what you are getting in to with Spirit.....
I used to really like them and we have probably used them to Orlando 4-5 times.......they are pulling some fast ones on people......

We flew Delta down on our trip for the same money Spirit was charging (after luggage, seats etc.).

I am a member of the Spirit low fare club ($39 every 4 months, I think). Let me know if you want me to check on flights with my discount....I dont think you can see them without the membership......

All in all we had a great trip.......Everything went smooth, no real big issues.....I enjoy both trips....with kids and without......
If you can manage a trip without kids....go for it.......it is fun!!!

I think the FREE DDP is a thing of the past for us if they implement the changes they are indicating on this site......LIke I said before, I think we spent about $25-35 per meal (tip, drinks, salad). We could eat off property for that amount.......I know, eating on property has a lot of conveniences....

I cant stress enough for people reading this, if you fly in to Orlando....RENT A CAR......Alamo is so convenient for us...I cant imagine using anyone else even if I have to pay a llittle extra.......Put a price on your time while on vacation........spending 2-3 hours a day at bus stops and riding buses is not worth it for me.....I dont believe it ever took more than 10 minutes driving time from POR to any park......that is huge for me.......

We have stayed at POP and it is fine with me.....also $89 night! I'm getting too practical as I get older......after all.......I'm just sleeping there!!!! LOL!!!

THanks for the info. I think the charging for baggage just stinks! How are you expected to go on vacation with no luggage? And I absolutely refuse to do laundry on my 1 vacation per year!!!

We never prepay for seats because they will move others before they will allow kids to be away from their parent. So we may not all sit together, but each kid will have a parent.

I am always worried about the downsides of those deals - but you see the $13 each way and it is so hard to resist!!!! Not to mention - there are not alot of options flying out of Metro!
