Unbelievable Rate for Feb. 07

I don't think it was intentional on anyone's part, but by not telling everyone directly only indicated to me that it was not a legitimate offer or deal from Disney and that they were trying to get something for nothing. Usually if you're secretive, you're trying to cover something up.

My opinion is that those booking knew it was a too good to be true offer, but figured if they stayed quiet about it, they might actually pull it off and get sprinkled with some pixie dust.

I figured it was worth a shot to take the gamble that there is a chance they would honor it. if they don't I don't blame them, it is a huge loss for them. It isn't my first resort choice, but I figured holy moly, for that rate, why wouldn't I??? If they say no go, I'll cancel and be no worse off than i am now. And Disney isn't losing anything, the room will go right back up for sale at the proper rate. I'm not gonna call them and demand my rate or ask for anything, other than my money back.

The garden suites include concierge.

Anyone remember the SSR studios going for about $39 on Christmas Day? Those were honored.

The only cheating going on was from those who were trying to take advantage of a glitch in the system. There was no special rate, no special discount, just a glitch in the system. If you tried to book a single room for a single night at the boardwalk, there was an option to choose a garden suite room and instead of it being +$600/night for the upgraded suite it was -$600.

Perhaps you misunderstood what I posted? I said that many people were asking for help in id'ing the resort & no one posted in on the boards, so those who asked felt cheated. Just curious why no one would post the info on the board, just kept hinting & hinting. For newbies it would have not been a good feeling, that's what I was posting about.

If someone wants to plan a trip & hope that the system glitch works in their favor, that is their business, and I don't plan on worrying about name-calling.

I'm hoping for some pixie dust that these are honored as well. I guess we'll have to wait and see... popcorn::

Actually, all of this action over this glitch should give Disney an idea{if they haven’t thought about it already}. What if there was a similar “glitch”, but one that Disney actually created. In the off-season when certain higher-value rooms are empty, why not create a glitch like this. If the rooms were most likely going to be empty anyway, would Disney really be “losing” money by offering these rooms at this discounted price? The bigger advantage for Disney is that they’d be getting many of us to take an extra trip or 2 that they wouldn’t have. While on this extra trip, we’d be spending plenty of money on food, merch, etc. I know personally before I saw this thread I had no plans on going down anytime soon. But once I heard this, I started going through the kids’ school calendars & seeing when they had off so we could get down for 4-7 days. Now keep in mind, if this offer stood, I just may have gone through with it & planned an extra vacation. And this “glitch” would still have cost us approx $1800 for 6 nights just for the room. Add those other food & merch costs & just like that Disney would have made a nice chunk off us. At basically no cost to them. Makes you stop & think. With this idea in mind, Disney could probably get those off-season empty rooms filled just like that.

for anyone who got the rate, did you pay in full, or is there anyone who did not pay in full? when do you think disney will say if they are cancelling that rate or not honoring it? has anyone called cro about this rate?

I called CRO about the rate because - And I am not kidding - JUST as I was clicking "submit" after entering my CC info, my cable went down!!! Disneyworld.com could not be found. :furious:

The CM I spoke with found the rate , but told me the rate would not be honored anyway. She said it was a mistake and the resort will expect the correct room rate to be paid. I asked HOW will they notify people that booked it and she told me letters would be sent out. Also spoke with guest services CM that laughed about this rate and said Value resorts could not even be booked at that rate ($120/nt). We shall see.......

I am sooooo disappointed. I could have booked March 2, 3, 4, 5. It would have been the perfect getaway. I have a mega headache now. :sad2:

I did not misunderstand your post. ;) I was using it as a springboard :yay: There was no name calling, just giving my opinion.
I have no idea why people would not want to post how to take advantage of such a situation....maybe they wanted to ensure that no one else got the dates they wanted? :confused3 It is all about greed anyway. :teacher:

You actually may have something there. I know I was trying to figure out when I could fit in an extra trip...To bad there isn't some big suggestion box in cyberspace you could send that idea to.

Hey, Walt Disney Company Lurkers, please make note of this one!!!!!!

Do like the way you think!

Of course, there's the flip side of guests who will cancel existing ressies if these reservations are indeed honored.

BTW, the rates were valid for June, July, August, Oct., Nov. & Dec. (dates I checked), not sure if there were black out days.

Would be funny that even if they do allow ressies on a day to day basis, wouldn't it be fun if they would refuse to link them & we'd have to move each day?

I had this happen to me a couple of times when I was booking. I just hit back on my toolbar, and then clicked continue again

If this is still going on can someone PM me thanks

No, they took it off the website. Now we are just trying to figure out if the rate will be honored or not

Because I'm not listening!

This post is for those with confirmations:

Hotel rate glitches happen all the time. And for the most part, they are usually honored or at least a compromise is made.

Marriotts, Hiltons, Four Seasons, and hotels of that status have all honoured glitched in the past. In fact, the presential suite of a high end hotel was bookable for $51 recently and the hotel honoured it. The key is persistance. This was THEIR mistake and it should be honoured, especially if it's paid in full. Those with confirmed ressies should stick together and insist that Disney honor these rates.

Of course CRO is going to say that they won't honour it. What else do you expect them to say. We need to stand firm with Disney.

I wonder how many poor saps at Disney will lose their jobs today......

I agree. Of course I still have to get my future wife to agree with not staying at the GF, so I may not even make it to the point of making sure they honor it

I had dates available in Jan, Feb, & April as well, including MLK Day, President's Day, and from 3/31-4/5.

I highly doubt that anyone will be fired over this. Everyone forgets (even me sometimes!) that Disney is a huge corporation and things get written off all the time. Even though they charge us $800 a night, it doesn't cost them nearly that much. And don't forget, there are only 14 garden suites available out of 400 rooms at Boardwalk Inn so it's only a handful of booking a day at best.

I work for a large company and you wouldn't believe how much money we lose every year because of people's stupidity.

so I just put this on the wrong thread, I'll try it right this time--
OT, I know, but this whole thread has gotten OT, it has over 10, 300 views since last night-can we go for world record????

Any suggestions on how to approach this with CRO? Wasn't there an inicident a couple of years ago where people were getting a Holiday Inn rate for a $1 or something? I remember seeing it in the media...anyone have any ideas on how to get some publicity to pressure Disney into honoring this one?
