DH and I just returned from a 4 day 3 night stay at YC. We booked a standard room with the FL resident code. DH faxed YC 5 days before we left asking for an upper floor room away from the elevators. He also mentioned we were celebrating our 15th Wedding Anniversary. We were not expecting anything special.
Well, we checked in on Wednesday at 6:15 pm. The CM at check-in said, "Oh, we have given you a complimentary upgrade to a water view room." "Thank you!" we said. CM: "By the way, you've also been given a complimentary upgrade to Concierge." We about died!!
Needless to say, our trip was wonderful and the YC was the best! Right after I get done here, I'm working on my letter to the YC manager.
Moral of the story: It never hurts to fax requests, so long as you don't expect anything extra in return!
