Hi, my mom needs some info.

We are going on vacation in June to Colorado and my sister is going to summer camp with a friend directly after. She will need to fly to Chicago, IL from Denver, CO to meet her friend, but she is only 13. Also she will be flying June 25th, one-way. She is very responsible and wont have any problems with this, but what is the general airline policy? We've never done this before so we don't know how they handle children traveling alone. Thanks for your help!

Policies vary by carrier, but at 13 she most likely won't need to pay an additional unaccomapnied monir fare. That also means that she won't get any special services and will be responsible for getting herself to her gate, onto the plane, etc.

I seem to remember that for most airlines, the age for unaccompanied minors is 14, so you'd have to fill out paperwork for her, and then a responsible adult (that you name in said paperwork) would have to show a photo id to pick her up at the other end.
