Unable to modify my reservation on Disney Website

I really, really hate calling people on the phone, so I went on the Disney website to see how easy it is to modify my reservation if free dining comes out(crossing fingers and toes). Well, the option to modify my reservation isn't there. All of my other info is listed and accurate. I can start check-in, change or cancel dining reservations, link tickets or memory maker but that is it. Could this just be a glitch? Anyone else have this problem?

Did you book direct with Disney? If you booked via a TA - even ones like Orbitz - then only the TA can modify or cancel.
FWIW I haven't been able to modify in years - since maybe the first month they offered it. (The link is there, but when I click on it it just returns back to the all reservations screen.) I've learned that perhaps its because my MDE is too full (see separate thread on that).

There are certain types of reservations that you aren't able to modify online. Some examples would be a bounce back reservation and a reservation made through a travel agent. There made be other ones, too.

I just cleared my cookies and still cannot modify my room-only reservation online. When I click "change reservation" it brings me right back to my reservations page. Any ideas other than to call them?

No other options but to call. I had the same problem on my last reservation. I booked it online as well as my parents vacation package. I could modify their reservation but not mine. I had to call every time! After missing out on a room discount (they were all gone by the time I got through on the phone), I ended up booking a new room only reservation and cancelling the old one.

I did get that discount btw. I just had to check the website every single day until the stars aligned and I got my room discount (or, you know, someone cancelled / changed their plans leaving behind an opening).

I have only been able to modify reservations I made through Disney's website. If I made the reservation by phone, I was able to cancel online, but not modify. I have three bouncebacks booked right now, and none of them have the modify option, only the cancel option.

I'm just going to keep trying to modify online since it's nothing urgent (yet). This has happened to me in the past and it eventually worked. Too bad it's such a hassle!

I made my reservation online about a month ago and tried to modify it last week. I ended up having to call to make the change after a few days of trying and changes not going through.

Bouncebacks will never have the Change Reservation option online. You will always have to call to make changes to those. Just one of the many quirks of a Bounceback reservations, I've learned. Different phone number for changes too.

I've only ever made reservations directly with Disney online and they've always been standard reservations ~ no bounceback, etc. I have never been able to modify online ever since MDE came into existence. I have no idea why it works for some people but not others.

One time I was unable to modify in internet explorer, but was able to when using chrome. No idea why!

I have never been able to modify online. Doesn't matter what PC, device, browser, etc. Even if I don't want to really modify I still try to no avail. :badpc:

I'll be honest, getting back the ability to modify online was the best thing about having to make a new MDE account

This for me too! I used to be able to modify online no problem. But, last trip, every time I clicked on the modify option, it also looped me back to the my reservations. So frustrating. Tried phone, tablets, several laptops, various browsers. Had to call.

I have to remove one person from my bounceback free dining offer for our December 13 trip. What is the number I should call? Also, if I decide to shorten the stay by one day, would that mean they would have to rebook a new reservation if it was available instead of just taking off one day? If that’s the case, I’d have to see if we pay the new higher ticket price and parking fees since this was booked before all these changes. May not be worth it even if the ‘dates were available ‘

Any help/advice is appreciated

1. Bounceback changes are done by a different number. Try 407-939-1923. If that's not the right one, they should be able to transfer you
2. Yep. And yep, any change to a reservation made before the changes will lose their "grandfathering" and you'll pay the higher rates/fees

This is the first thing that failed with my old MDE account. I could make changes for years, then suddenly one day I couldn't. I called and they claimed that no room only reservations could be changed online. Which was clearly wrong so I just dropped it. Deciding it was in my favor in the end since I usually added to my stays when I saw how little an upgrade could be. If I had to call, I wouldn't bother.
Then, the MDE account was totally corrupted with an overload of data points and they had to build a new one for me. Now, I can make changes online again.

That is a common issue and discussed on several threads here. Google Chrome tends to be more compatible with various newer websites, so I always use that for Disney. Did have to update something on my reservation recently and called them on the phone and was easily done that way.

Regardless of how they get added, you are simply stating a 'preference' and there are no guarantees Disney will be able to accommodate them.

Thank you, AngiTN, I’ll give that number a try. To recap -
1) So I should be able to remove 1 guest without rebooking the reservation
2) I will not be able to shorten length of stay without rebooking thus potentially making the change less financially desirable with parking fees and higher ticket prices
