Unable to Cancel/Re-Book AKL Concierge to get free dining

I currently have a room-only reservation for AKL Concierge in September with AAA discount. I tried to apply code for free dining (I know I'll lose AAA discount), but CRO said it would require a new booking. AKL Concierge is not available for my dates now, and I won't cancel my existing ressie without having another in place. AKLC is a dealbreaker too. I'll be fed to the lions if my family can't do Sunrise Safari as planned.

I'm going to reach out to AKL concierge desk, however, I imagine this is not something they can help with. Any other ideas?

Try booking day by day for YMP (free dining package) and see how many days you can get; it could be just one day somewhere in your time frame is the snag. (i.e. your trip is the 1st - 5th: 1st, 2nd, 3rd free dining available, 4th-not, 5th yes) you can then decide if you want to juggle reservations.

OR--only stay at concierege level for only the night you need to do sunrise safari the next morning.

Disney has been reducing the number of conceirge and suites that are discounted or are available under some of the promotions like free dining. It's possible free dining was never available at AKL concierge for your dates. Even if you're able to cancel and rebook you still might not be able to get free dining.

Previous poster is correct, you might see if you can get the free dining for part of your stay. My guess is you'll either have to pay for your meals or downgrade your accomodations.

Have you tried going through AAA? I just booked three nights in late September at AKL concierge with free dining through AAA.
Would that make a difference? Does AAA have different room availability than WDW CRO?

I appreciate this, but if you knew me, you'd know this is just too much for me to deal with. One of the main reasons I booked concierge in the first place was for convenience.

Only to plan on spending the $$ you'd thought you've have to in the first place on food
Clearly, my worst case scenario is not so bad.
