Unable to book AKV Kidani due to computer system???

Don't give up hope.....................come on DVC, hand over those newly released rooms and up-date our waitlists!!!!!
I have no idea how many more rooms still had to be released, does anyone know? Not too clear on how this works! Do they release a certain amount of rooms based on what they anticipate being ready/sold and then if ahead of
schedule release some more?!! Sorry if this is a stupid question!!!

Just wanted to report that I just got off of the phone with MS and was able to get my 1 BR SV at Kidani for August 28 and 29. Pixie dust to everyone waiting for waitlists to come through!

Yipee, I just called MS, I was in a meeting this morning and could not call right first thing..but I was able to get a 1 bedroom Savannah view at Kidani for Saturday June 13th, and MS just connected this to my existing reservation.
The CM was very nice and helpful and now we can begin our vacation right in our villa.

Not a stupid question at all. I would love to know the answer because it would help us gauge our chances of getting something for a date that is currently sold out. If they go by rooms actually declared thus far, we stand a good chance of seeing more rooms become available. If they estimate the number they expect to declare by a given date, then it depends on how conservative those estimates are. I really wish I knew how this whole process works!

We haven't gotten our waitlist...savannah view studio, Sunday of Memorial weekend, don't know the date. We'll be giving up a standard view studio for that night, if the savannah comes through.

One waitlist for another switch just like this came through right after Christmas. I did not waitlist them together, so don't know how far down the line this one was. I never called to check, I found out when I got the new reservation.

I was told there were "technical difficulties" and to call back tomorrow also. I wanted to cancel June and book something in May instead d/t all these snow days my kids won't be out of school until June 23 - uggghhh!

When were you supposed to be done with school? Snow days are sometimes fun, but not when you end up missing half your summer! Good luck switching your ressie!!

The power of positive thinking, If they have declared the 5th floor it would show that AKV is selling much faster than BLT since there was a declaration for AKV in December and I believe the last BLT was in Oct or Nov and if memory serves me smaller than the AKV declaration.

I've been checking periodically for more Kidani declarations. I haven't seen any since the December declarations.

There was a recent one for BLT though, mid-January some time. IIRC, maybe 10 or 12 2BR equivalents. The rest of the 4th floor and part of the 5th I think.

Bobbi, I was waitlisted for Sunday of Memorial weekend for a SV studio..but just cancelled it this morning!
I always call..here and there, cause in the past I seem to get lucky, things can open up just like that.
I originally had a cash room, but a 1 bdr std view opened up, I grabbed it, Dh doesnt like paying cash for a room...hmm wonder why?! lol
I still have to change rooms, (I have studio sv for all other nights)..good luck!!

Anyway, are we allowed to use Kidani facilities if staying at Jambo on points? I would automatically assume the Community Hall, right? What abt the pool area?

Yes we will be able to use Jambo's facilities if staying in Kidani and visa versa.

I'm sure you already know this Bobbi as you're a pro on these boards, but I've found that when calling, things sometimes magically appear. A couple times now when I called about a waitlist, magically what I wanted was available. Why it didn't fill on its own, I don't know...but it can't hurt to try and hope for a little

thats what I thoughts thanks....MS said there will not be a shuttle back and forth in the beginning, but a 10 minute walk.....

The talk is that the buses going to the parks will go from the Jambo House and then to Kidani. I wonder if like some of the other resorts that the bus that goes to DTD will go opposite, from Kidani to Jambo so that you will have a bus back? Only time will tell.
