I couldn't be prouder! And they're sparkly and glittery! I love them! And you deserve something pretty and new. Even if you are still losing weight, it is so nice to have some new things. And you can pair them with a cardigan right now if you want. :goodvibes

TK! :goodvibes Free is such a great treat!! :cheer2:

I love the sparkle and glitter. I use to buy clothes with sparkle (or bling as I like to say) on them because it was the only thing about the clothes I liked, when you're buying things in really huge sizes it's hard to find something you
like.
Now I can buy clothes with bling because I love everything about it!!!
I told myself I won't buy anything to wear unless I'm totally thrilled with it, we'll see how long that can hold out when I'm shopping to beat the band for this trip.

It's funny you bring up the cardi's, I did try on a few and when I bought these tanks, but they were too itchy. :crazy2: I never would have thought in the past about buying something that accentuated my big arms, now I want to show them off!! How silly am I?!?
I'm so greatful for my weight loss, sounds funny but I really am. :lovestruc

I love the sparkly shirts! They are so fun and good mood inspiring!

Heidi Ho good Dis'ers! :wave2:

Just wanted to stop by and show you....my new, cute, tank tops!!

20130118_233137.jpg

Yes, I realize buying tank tops might not be a big deal to most, but for me it's really big deal!!

I haven't bought anything sleeveless to wear on it's own in....over two decades! Wow!
Now. That being said. I'm not so sure I should be wearing them with the very, very white arms I have. But dang it! I'm showin off these arms I've worked on for so long!! The fact I actually like my arms now is sayin something! :goodvibes

Oh, and did I mention I got them for free? Mmmm hmmm, you heard me right, I got them for F R E E. ::yes::
I took the suggestion of TarzanKat and went to Kohl's to see if there was anything left of the summer clothes and found these!
When I went to the register to pay for them, I realized I had $30 dollars in Kohl's Cash left over from Christmas and voila! Free tank tops! :woohoo: The manager was really sweet to honor the kohls' cash, seeing how they were expired.  :upsidedow
Oh well!
I feel so blessed to have started out my shopping this way, it really helps me to see that the Lord really is taking care of it all.....very humbling. :lovestruc

Oooooh, sparkly, FREE and sleeveless! You go girl! What a nice manager to honor expired Kohl's cash. You are blessed.

Not funny at all! You've worked very hard, you should be proud! :goodvibes

Last time I bought a cardigan I want to say it was from Target. Very soft sweater material. Just in case you're looking. Heck, before we know it the winter stuff will be on clearance to make way for spring! :lmao:

Awww, thank you. I have worked really hard, I can't stop smiling about how far I've come! :) I can't wait to see how I'll look in another 25 lb's!

Good to know! :thumbsup2 The one I found at Kohl's, the one I thought was going to be "the one," was made with angora hair and the rest was acrylic, which you think would have been as soft as they could get. I guess the hair is what had me itching, can't wear wool either. :scared:
I'll be sure to keep my eyes out for them next fall. ::yes::

Just checking in and see that I came just in time to see shopping pics. :crazy2:

I guess you are trying to get rid of your guy readers. :scratchin :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just kidding... hope you are doing well! :goodvibes

Hey, I see an old friend here.. WUZZUP TK?????? :wave2:

No trip can be planned without a bit of drama, so for your entertainment....

Soooo, I almost had a heart attack the other day when I got a letter from the school district stating my daughter has 10 (5 excused 5 not) absences and I'm considered in violation of the law in the state of Texas. :faint:

I knew of four total days she had been away from school (sick this year), but certainly not 10!! I guess they consider even a partialy missed class as an absence.
Come to find out Mackie had been staying upstairs in another class room instead of going to dance while she still had her foot in a boot. (incase you missed it-she broke her toe) She got an ear full for this!! (not informing her dance teacher-not the broken toe-LOL!).

I guess between me being a silly and forgetting to send notes to say she was home sick (on two seperate occasions) and Mackie not getting word to her dance teacher that she would be staying upstairs in her math class working on homework, we were in violation of the Texas state law!! :worried:
Never been in violation of the law that I'm aware of, but I have to say it was certainly throwing a huge wrench in our trip plans!! Needless to say I had a bit of a melt down thinking our trip plans had be ruined!

So, in the letter it stated I needed to call the Vice principal "to work out a plan/strategy to have my child in school more." Also, for your entertainment.... this letter states that my child has a 15.5% higher rate of dropping out because of frequent absences. Even bigger---> :rolleyes2

Never you mind the fact I have a 20 yr. old son who graduated with honors from high school and is now at Texas A&M.

Nervously, I call the VP and wait most of the afternoon for her to call me back. Why is it when you need to get something out of the way, God has a way of making you wait it out?!? More like sweat it out.
92376288a2bba472ffb5e1ad2fc20de4_zps39d2244c.gif

Think He might be trying to teach me some patients, or to just completely and finally trust everything to Him?!? Pathetic, I tell ya! Me, that is!

Finally! The VP from Mackie's school calls me back and said she was not worried in the least. "Mackenzie is a wonderful girl, good student (straight A's-loved by all her teachers) and it's more of a district thing to send out the letters."
I explained what happened and she totally said it was fine and that it wasn't as big an ordeal as the district made it out to be. She said she would have called personally if she felt there was anything to worry about with Mackenzie. Whew!!

To tell the truth, I was actually pretty glad I had a chance to speak with someone from the school about the fact we were going on a trip.
So I seized the moment to tell her we had a big trip coming up in May and would she like for us to arrange making up Mackenzie's hours? She of course asked me where we were going and I said FL. :rolleyes1 Why is it we say Florida as though they won't figure us out?!? :rotfl:
She then asked if we were going to Disney World and I of course couldn't lie and said..."Yes, mama." <hanging my head>

VP: Oh! Cool! We just went for 11 days over the Christmas break! You're gonna have a great time!

:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Me: <inside my head> (Ooooooh Lord, you have such funny ways!!)
Oh wow!! I hope y'all had a great trip!

:rotfl:

I then told her Mackenzie and I had talked about her getting all her school work/tests/projects done before the trip and that I knew I had to fill out the paper work, and that I also knew it wouldn't be approved by the district.
She of coursed laughed and said, "Clearly you've been through this before." To which I said yes. "We've been to WDW in 2007 and in 2010 with both kiddos and I knew the drill pretty well." She said not to worry about talking out the details right now, we'll cross that bridge when it comes.
She said this sounded like a really exciting trip and asked if the whole family was going? I then told her why the trip was planned, she just about how a fit! She couldn't get over how much weight I had lost and kept saying "Oh my goodness!" over and over. :rotfl: She was really great about the whole thing.

So! Crisis averted! Thank you Lord! :worship:
Mackie is back on track!! I told her I'll string her up and beat her like a pinata if she doesn't take her vitamins and gets sick between now and the trip. :rotfl: The girl never gets sick and twice this year has already been home a couple of days.
So! Here's to us not getting sick the rest of the year and here's to God making this all come together once again. ::yes:: Thank you Lord. :lovestruc

Hey, I see an old friend here.. WUZZUP TK?????? :wave2:

Timothy, my brotha!! :yay: So glad you stopped by. :) Naaa, my guy readers are solid in their manhood, they can take the shopping pics in good stride and not miss a manhood beat. :rotfl:

How are you feeling? Have you stopped limping yet, hope you didn't have any breaks as a result of the race?
Incase y'all don't know why I'm asking Tim this....he ran the half marathon at WDW last week!! :yay: So proud of him!! (Pat did too!! :cheer2:)
Against doctors orders I might add. Tim had some risks if he ran, and to be honest I can't say I wouldn't have done the exact same thing after all he went through to be prepared for this race.

He also has a TR going on about it, so jump on over there if you have the time to read. He's like me a slow poster so you don't have to worry about a fast paced TR that you can't keep up with. :goodvibes :upsidedow

Thank you for checking in, little brother! :)

Whew! I could feel that adrenaline pumping. Glad the crisis was averted and the vp is on board with you! All things work together for good...you know the rest and it sounds like it sure did!

Oh how stressful!!! So will they fix her record now so you don't get another nastygram?

So glad it worked out.

Hey, I see an old friend here.. WUZZUP TK?????? :wave2:

HI!!!!!! :wave2:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank goodness for averted crises!

It is amazing how strict they are now in regard to absences.

I just read your story Millie. We just got a letter in the mail like that yesterday. Juliana has already missed 13 days. She is allowed 15 excused days before the school board gets involved. Between injuring her foot, 2 separate fevers, 3 strep throats, a stomach bug, and vacation, we are pushing the envelope. If it wasn't for a freak snowstorm while we were in Florida in Nov. and a snow day last week, at the end of her bug, we would be in trouble.

Melody called the school this morning and spoke to the secretary and basically went through all Juliana's days. She told us that we should be fine. But this isn't counting how ever many more days she is going to miss. Juliana has a enzyme deficiency called MPO deficiency. If you click on the link you can read a little about it. As you can see it is about 3 paragraphs long. There isn't much research about it. They found it when she was on chemotherapy. The machine couldn't do her blood counts and they had to be counted by eye. The doctors couldn't figure out why so we had to go to another specialist. ANYWAY...

I hope she doesn't miss much more school because the superintendent is a _____... well, I can't write it here but we've already had to deal with him when he tried to move Juliana to a different school 1.5 weeks before school started.

I know her principal and teacher has our back and Juliana gets perfect grades (I can't tell you what they are because they use a # system now). I hope it doesn't come down to that. :rolleyes2

:upsidedow I hope we won't have any issues, but from the sounds of it I don't think we will. <crossing fingers and hoping in Him>

That's the hope!

You and me both, girl! :crazy2:

I know! Right?!? And it all comes down to the almighty dollar, not the childs education that they are so worried about. Saddly. :worried:

Great story Camille! :)

Thanks, Glennbo, so happy to see you over here. :flower3: I've been catching up on your TR, just haven't said much. Sorry. :(

<stepping upon soap box>I can't believe they feel they need to get involved especially if you have a child that is prone to being sick. I'm so sorry Tim. I'm sure they can't really do much to y'all if Ana is sick. Let's hope she doesn't get sick any more.

Melody called the school this morning and spoke to the secretary and basically went through all Juliana's days. She told us that we should be fine. But this isn't counting how ever many more days she is going to miss. Juliana has a enzyme deficiency called MPO deficiency. If you click on the link you can read a little about it. And you know the only reason he wants to do that is due to her being absent and them missing out on the money they get for every child in a seat every day. I'm so sick of the schools doing this to people, if it's not about the money they get for your child being there, then it's about the money the get for their test grades, it's as though our children are seen as comodities rather than the students education being the thing that needs to be most valued. :sad2:
You know....I'd bring that up the next time the superintendent tries to mess with you. I'd bring up that you think he's more worried about attendance money coming into the school than he is about Ana's education and that you may have to see a lawyer about that. THEN see if he's singing the tune of running her out of this specific school. They have an obligation to teach your children-by law, even if that means she's home sick more than most kids, has a learning disability or if it means she's a genius and needs more than most students, NOT watch their own district pocket books.<stepping off soap box> This must stink for the teachers on so many levels, bless their hearts.

I know her principal and teacher has our back and Juliana gets perfect grades (I can't tell you what they are because they use a # system now). I hope it doesn't come down to that. :rolleyes2

Thank goodness for the principal and her teacher!
I know exactly what you are talking about, they did the number grade thing in grammar school with Mackie and Tyler too. It's back to a normal grading system when they get into middle school. :upsidedow
Sorry Tim, I'll be praying Ana stays well the rest of the year. :)

Thanks, Glennbo, so happy to see you over here. :flower3: I've been catching up on your TR, just haven't said much. Sorry. :(

Don't feel bad -- I haven't said much on it lately either! I've been swamped, pretty much. I started to work on a new update a few days ago and got about half a paragraph done and that was it. :(

I hate it when that happens. You'll get back into the swing of it again. Once the nasty cold weather goes away you'll be in writing mode again. :goodvibes I'll send some of our warm weather your way.

Who's with me??!!??
