I hope this doesn't offend, but...

We are staying at Pop Century and our kids will be rooming with us. I wouldn't have it any other way as they are just awesome kids to be around. But, occasionallywe may want some "alone" time.

So... my question is this: I have heard that the resorts have a place the kids can go and play with adult supervision. Is this true and, if so, is the supervision adequate?

At the Polynesian Resort they have the Neverland Club. Its for kids ages 4-12 (they need to be potty trained) and is the evenings (I think). You make reservations, the cost is around $10-12 per hour I think. have never used them but many other have with good results. I am pretty sure some of the other resorts have child care programs too. If you call this number, 407-939-3463 you can get info. We were going to do this next month for New Years' Eve but decided to spend it with the kids. Also, I believe you can arrange for in-room babysitters, not sure how you go about that however.

Most of the deluxe resorts have some sort of kids club. We've done the Neverland club @ Poly and Sandcastle club @ Beach Club. Both of our kids (8 & 4) had a great time!! It was $10.00 per hour per child in Oct. I'd say go for it, we had a great romantic meal, and the kids got treated like princes; worked out well for all (even though it cost us over $100 was well worth it)

We sent DSs to the kids' club at the Contemporary and ate dinner at California Grill.

Am I the only one reading this as "alone time" meaning in your room time? Like, get the kids out of Dodge for awhile? Please clarify. :)

on and on 'til the break of dawn  ? Just tell them that Daddy needs some Mommy help in the bathroom. Please post on another message board if you are asking what I think you are asking. BTW, how long is your vacation anyway???? Two months????

If you want time out of the room without them then hire a Fairy Godmother, they are great. Don't have the phone number with me right now, but I completely understand. (They are listed in the Passporter)

A good marriage thrives when parents can spend some time with each other and just the company of each other. That is what it is all about, kids are a blessing of a good marriage.

It does not matter whether you are going for three days or three months, I cannot imagine not being able to spend some time with my beautiful wife without our four kids around. I do love them all very much, but I love my wife as well and our relationship deserves time together, even when we are on vacation.

PS If you call the Fairy Godmothers ask for Vivian, she is AWESOME!

I'm asking if there is a play section with adult supervision at Pop century. I expect most can handle the question without telling me to post it elsewhere. I'm not Janet Jackson and this isn't the Superbowl.

As for how long my vacation is... what does that matter? When you're in love, you're in love. We have been for 13 years.

No, not at POP. And you don't have to clarify to anyone. Congrats on 13 years. We are 10 and still madly in love..enjoy!

No. There are no supervised kids clubs at Value Resorts; only at the Deluxe Resorts. However, you can take your kids to the clubs at the deluxe resorts, you just need to call at least 24 hrs. in advance to reserve space. Kids need to be between 4-12 yrs. old to visit the clubs.

There is a long thread that was on the family board on the topic of parents and intimacy whilst on vacation: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=774057&highlight=intimate+kids That thread ended up getting locked, so I think the consensus is that the discussion is a risky one here; however, nothing is stopping you from reading what has already been said on the topic.

Not sure if this was a joke or not but in my home with a 2yo and 6yo we have a lot broken shelves in the closet and do you really want to know how many adults it take to change a light bulb in the bathroom. :rolleyes1
30year olds married 9 years and going on strong!! :cheer2:

Anyhoo to OP - Enjoy your trip!

Congratulations! I don't have any advice about what to do with the kids, but I just wanted to tell you I hope to be just in love with my husband (when I get married :) ) after 13 years. You go girl!

Get two ajoining rooms. This was my husband's prerequisite for our stay :rotfl: .

Most of the time, I'm a guy. Except for when my wife posts under this name. Then, I'm still a guy. :rotfl:
