Ultimate Poll! IOA vs MK!

IOA is a great park, and the 'purists' that say it isn't are drinking the kool-aid. With that said, however, if you have small children, the draw of MK seems a little more appealing to that age group. If you are active adults or have teenagers, then IOA may be a little more your style. To each his own, I love them both!

Mk is better than IOA, but neither is anywhere near as great as EPCOT.

Dream about being at MK and feel "at home" there. Cannot imagine picking anywhere over it! I just love the feeling I get when I am there!

I have to go with Islands of Adventure. I was surprised at how bored I was at the Magic Kingdom. I loved the Haunted Mansion, but that was really it. Nothing thrilled me. Islands of Adventure is one of my favorite theme parks, the theming is ridiculous and the thrills are great! I'm a big fan of IOA. But, like someone stated above, both parks are beaten by Epcot!

Personally, I think 2 considerations would make this poll more reliable. I wonder how many people who voted for the MK have never been to IOA. My guess is quite a few. Of course, the opposite could be true, but not likely considering this is a WDW board. Also, how many of those people stay onsite @ WDW & tried IOA for a few hours once. IMHO, comparing guests who've stayed onsite at both UO & WDW would be a more fair comparison. Also, those who don't stay onsite at either, & visit both for day visits would provide a more accurate comparison. I have a feeling this poll is weighted heavily by some who have never been to IOA or went for a little while with a closed mind, which would make it meaningless. FWIW, my personal fav. park is Epcot.

We have done a five day vacation at US/IOA and lots of WDW vacations. We enjoyed all of our vacations, but US/IOA, though unique, wonderful experiences are nowhere near our MK and WDW vacations. We do enjoy each of the parks for different reasons, but for magic, MK wins in our family hands down. I will be adding another two or three day US/IOA next year or the year after (once I can bite the bullet on the $$ factor). With all members of our party considered adults for pricing there really are very few breaks in the pricing scale for US/IOA for us.

MK without a doubt. While we liked IOA we were finished by 1pm and it didn't hold the same Magic as MK!

Let me guess... you are somewhere between 18 & 28 -- with no kids. Am I right?
IMHO most of the attractions at IOA are aimed at teens and young adults.

Personally I prefer the details of Disney... but I have a younger child and I'm not into thrill rides.

Young kids like thrills too! I have been riding roller coasters since I was 7 years old and have never once looked back. IOA, in my opinion is a way better park becuase nothing there feels out dated. Almost every ride there is incredible! MK had a few top notch rides, but then the rest are just watching robots move back and forth while you float along in a boat. MK is my least favorite park at WDW, it just does nothing for me (even when I was a little kid). When you are kid that grew up only 1.5 hours from Cedar Point, it is really hard for the rides at MK to impress you.

I really love IOA because of the roller coasters, but there's something at the MK that just cannot compete with it. Just the fact that Walt Disney made it and that there are so many more things to do, AND IOA doesn't have fireworks, I vote for MK. Not to mention the lack of food at IOA (Except for Mythos).

USF Resort is going to start having a nighttime fireworks/laserlight show. It is going to take palce out side of the two parks, in the city park area (I think)
