Any recommendations? I want to buy done thing so that my iphone doesn't run out of charge half way through the day..... Thx

I bought two power packs from mymemory.com. I got one each for myself and my daughter for our iPhones. I have tested them several times at home and they give a full charge to an almost dead battery. I also used it yesterday to charge my electronic cigarette battery while to see if that worked and it was fine. They cost £4.99 each and are about the size of a large Pritt stick. Very happy with what I got for the money. The only thing you need to remember is to have your data cable for your phone with you as you will need that to connect it to the power. Or buy a spare cable if you think you'll forget the one you have.

Thanks. And how do you charge the charger? Will I need to take anything specific with me ?

They came with a short USB cable each so you could use a laptop or if you have a USB plug that works too

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I used one of these for my last trip...http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B005NFOA0S/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?qid=1401097351&sr=8-9

It holds 2-3 full charges for my iphone 5S or one charge for my ipad. The build quality of these things is brilliant and they do have larger and smaller sizes.

I second the Anker external battery. It uses a mini USB cable to charge (either from the outlet or through a computer). Check with the hotel where you are staying to see if they will charge your external battery in the evening (while you are sleeping) and then give it back to you in the AM.

Just to throw a spanner in the works I ordered an Anker pack, this model http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CEZBKTO/?tag=ho01f-21
Very poor, only recharged phone 3 times and then had recharge problem after a few charges so sent it back.
I then ordered this http://www.amazon.co.uk/RAVPower-10...=1401168630&sr=1-1&keywords=ravpower+10400mah
They were on offer at £15.49 about a month ago, totally different build quality, they are spot on, recharge phone 5 times, smaller & lighter. So good I ordered another.

Another spanner, I use this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CSFCYFY/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a bit more but it also adds the ability to both extend a hotel network cable for broadband into a wifi network but also share storage across said wifi. It has an SD and USB socket for storage so it's technically possible to use a USB hard disk to stream media from to tablets, phones and laptops.

From a charge point of view, it will charge a phone a good three times, nintendos a few times and a tablet probably twice. It does struggle to keep up with the power consumption of tablets when plugged in and in use but certainly stops them running out anywhere near as quickly.

It's a godsend on a flight, especially ones that allow wifi as I set up a hotspot for the kids and they can minecraft with each other or watch films that won't fit on their tablets. All while charging one of the tablets too.

I think I will need to direct my DH to this thread so he can decide what will be best for us - he works in ICT so it all means more to him than me :)
