UK Disney Store To Be Sold

Hiya

For once I have a bit of information, a member of my family is an accountant and handles companys being bought and sold, turns out he is going to be handling the sale of the UK Disney Stores, There is a buyer but I dunno who?

I hope they dont change too much

I doubt that it will. I worked, part time, at the Disney Store in Regents Street for 3 years. I loved it. I see some of my old colleagues at the DS on Oxford Street and they say that it's completely different from before. Seems like all the stores are worried about is how much money is being taken. I use to love being able to talk to customers without any fear of needing to get them to spend loads of money.

Such a shame.

The US stores were sold off quite a while ago - a wonder what effect that had on them?

I seem to remember a lot of them closed down

apparently the team he heads have to go do audits on the stores, to see if the asking price is what it should be and to see what the main profit givers are and which stores are not performing

Best get my DS his Woody outfit quick then just in case. Want to surprise him at MNSSHP.
Let's hope they don't close any as a trip to the Disney store is the only thing I can bribe my DS with when I take him shopping - which he hates (typical man!)

Oh dear

When they closed a lot of the non profit making stores in the USA and then sold them all off to The Children's Place they did say they would keep the (profit making) European stores open.

It's my only little bit of Disney magic between trips

I work for the disney store here in the UK, we havent heard anything, My area manager thought it would be as early as next year, but were being told 2007 now.If thats the case im gone, no more discounts on WDW hotels or merchandise!!
