****Edit - my credit card company was flagging the charge as possible fraud (large amount from diff country). A quick call to them and the charge went through no problem.****

Hey all,

Long story short, I am an American living in Germany and I want to take the family to visit DLP. I was planning on booking in August for 6 nights, 1 adult, 1 child under 7.

I visited the DLP website and it took me to the UK website by default. I found an offer for Sequoia lodge of 1260 pounds (1500 Euro) and went to book, but it locked my country as UK and I can't change it.

So....I switched to the DLP Germany website and they have completely different offers, all of which are significantly higher cost! The same trip to the Sequoia lodge would cost me 2400 Euro if booked through the German website. That's a 1,000 Euro more for the exact same booking!

So then I tried the US website and the cost was even higher (2600 Euro after exchange). Again, the exact same booking info.

Are these offers really locked in to specific countries? I suppose I could speak with a travel agent in the UK about making the booking for me but that just seems silly.

I just can't justify spending 2400 Euro for a 6 night trip for basically 1 adult (since the child is free).

yes, you can use the UK site to book, just put in all your normal details and leave the country at UK.

all your confirmation and booking references come to you by email, and its this confirmation you take with you to check in at your hotel :).

But what about paying for the hotel? The website is asking for my credit card information and is using the address location from above. I guess I can try it and see if it goes through :)

It will go through fine, lots of Op have done this.
Happy booking!

I must be doing something wrong because I just tried to use my VISA and the transaction was denied:

[6007] Payment authorisation has been denied. Please check and resubmit your request or contact the Disneyland Paris call centre for assistance.

Just wanted to post an update. It was my credit card that was denying the transaction. They saw the large charge from a foreign country and they flagged it as possible fraud. A quick call to the CC company cleared everything up and I was able to book no problem! Glad I could too because it saved me a fortune! Now to figure out how to buy DLP shares from the US.... :)

Great news :cool1:

Barclays do that to me when I try and buy something large like flights here with it :sad2:

My French bank has never bothered whatever the total :lmao:

Re the shares -

Have you looked at the links on the Useful Information thread on shares ?

If it's for the discounts it would be easier to buy a Dreams AP no doubt

Carrie, I have read through the shares threads and it seems most folks are buying from the UK. There was some discussion about buying from a US account but I just need to call my brokerage company and ask them about it.

I want to join the shareholder club for the discounts on the 2 AP's I'm going to buy :) in addition to salon Mickey and higher discounts on meals:)

Zinderella,
The planning is in full swing :). This is a combined Paris and DLP trip so I get to do double planning. Parks in the mornings, Paris in the afternoons and then back to Disney for the evenings :) Should be a lot of fun, I just hope the kids can keep up :)

You can buy 2 Dream AP's or 1 and get a childs one free (if the child is under 7) for 149€ each from cemultiavantages.

A Dream gives you 15% on all restaurants (ts/cs/buffets + drinks) where as the shareholders discount is only on ts and buffets plus better discounts on BBWWS and the same discount on souvenirs.

ok you don't get acess to SM in the morning but it's another idea to think about :goodvibes

Wow, I didn't realize you could get a child's pass for free! That is definitely worth considering! I just need to work on my French :). Thats also a nice savings on the dream AP, and I could stay offsite and get emh access....
