Just searched and found CVS

I went to the CVS put in Orlando and the J and J was not available anywhere.

That location only has moderna. A lot of places say they offer the J and J until you go to make an appointment and then it's not available. Trust me I've been looking for a week or so.

I'm going to be super disgusted if anyone decides to get the vaccine just so they can cruise. :(
Why?

I've found that most people have a price. If this is what finally convinces them to get vaccinated. That's fine with me. The more people vaccinated, the better. I don't care what their motivation is.

I know people that weren't sure if they wanted to get vaccinated right away, but decided to because they wanted to be able to travel.

So the Bahamas requires full vaccination to sail there, and every other cruise line complies and requires full vaccination. But you believe Disney will cancel sailings instead? I find the chance of that slim. I think DCL can still make money on cruises to the Bahamas with a lighter load because their prices are higher to begin with and going to CC takes very little fuel.

opposite of what I said. ;-)

Why are you going to be disgusted at someone else's choice of what is or is not right for them to choose for themselves?

Because missing out on a cruise was what prompted a vaccine. Not protecting themselves, their family, the community? Yes, I'll be thrilled too - just so we get more people vaccinated. But it seems like a pretty selfish reason to vaccinate and kind of indicates their concerns never had any validity.

Do you want to parlay that in to the Wonder and October 7 Day cruise sailings? haha
This has actually got me thinking...I wonder if the delay has NOTHING to do with them still trying to make a decision on the Dream & 4-day Fantasy sailings themselves, and more about them trying to announce more things all at once. New 7-day Fantasy sailings, Wonder sailings in early October, and oh by the way now you need vaccines everywhere. Could they really be holding the news to get it all out at once?

I totally agree with your logic, and we can have a whole separate conversation about selfishness but I want to keep the thread alive waiting for the impossible inevitable announcement from Disney....

Any chance we get a curveball and Disney has the Bahamian govt tweak their order to allow Castaway non-vaccinated? At this point just find it hard to believe they would string guests along this close to the 9/3 sailing date and then cancel them.

You do realize the vast majority of people getting vaccinated now are only getting it because of mandates at work, really no different

On DCL, we've spent 21 days on the Wonder. We also prefer small ships. I LOVE Celebrity's ships. Even their biggest ships are comparable in size to the Magic/Wonder. We find the service, amenities, and atmosphere on Celebrity to very comparable to Disney. DD does not love the kids club on Celebrity, but that could also just be her aging out. Celebrity does have casinos but our experience has been that they're pretty small and not smoky. There's nothing specific she doesn't like so you can make your own conclusions on that, lol. The price is delightful in comparison and generally is an all inclusive rate.

For example,
Celebrity is only sailing with 2 in a room right now and we're a family of 3. We have to get two rooms - 2 in a veranda and 1 in an inside.

For an end of August 7 night cruise:
Veranda: 3895
Inside: 1777
Total: $5672
This fare includes premium alcoholic drink package for all 3, streaming wifi for all 3, all gratuities PLUS $900 OBC as well as their limited Concierge class benefits (nothing like on Disney, but does include premium locations on the ship).

If I wanted to do the same on Disney:
We could all stay in the same cabin (and choose the same cabin for both legs) - so I chose a 5A which is most similar to our veranda on Celebrity
3 Night: $2799
4 Night: $3075
Total: $5874
This fare includes nothing extra (well, soda is included :) ).

AND the is the Dream which is larger than we like. So, for us, the value proposition is very clear!

I don't think the Bahamas is requiring additional testing now that they're requiring vaccines, but for St Maarten, Celebrity will be supplying us with a test to comply with their requirements if we decide to go ashore.
Thank you so much! Celebrity has been on my radar - I didn't know they had smaller ships either! My kids have never liked the kids clubs even on DCL so thats not an issue :)
