It has just come to my attention (yes, I can be slow and dense at times!!!) that we will be there during Marathon weekend! I didn't even know this EXISTED until I came to the DIS boards. We are going 1/6 - 1/14. Where should be avoid during this time??? Are the crowds going to be "summer" crowds?

Robert--

Oh My GOSH!! I KNOW I must be losing it now because after using your link, I actually remember READING that thread!!! Hello??? Too much Mickey on the brain maybe??? Thanks for being so kind as to put the links in your response!! Everyone always takes such good care of me here!!!

P.S. I'm not usually mentally impaired--I think it's the thought that my trip is so close and I'm worried I'll forget something!! Thanks again!!!!!

Don't worry, we were there last year for the marathon and hardley noticed anything different. They run so early in the morning you shouldn't notice anything either. Maybe some extra people in the hotels that weekend but I wouldn't worry the parks are usually slow this time of year. Have a great time we'll be down there on the 21st, can't wait.:firefight

Come watch and cheer us on!!
And I'm keeping my fingers crossed about Josh's blood tests...seems like you said they were a little off a couple of days ago??

We got the OK to go a few days ago then labs went CRAZY again over the holiday. Dr. changed his meds--labs went crazy. Changed meds back, labs are better. Still looking at a biopsy on Tuesday, but we're going regardless!!! We need this!! Thanks so much for asking about it--I am in *awe* of the support of the people on these boards!! ::yes:: ::yes::

Even if there are a lot of people there for the marathon, they should be thin and won't take up a lot of space, and after the race they woun't be moving very quickly, so you should be able to get in line ahead of them pretty easily! :teeth:

Yay !!! So glad to hear that you're going...have a wonderful trip!!!:sunny:

joshsmom - I'll be there with my gang, too! Our plan is to take the boat or walkway from BWV to MGM that morning, just to stay out of the 'traffic'. On an earlier post someone recommended spending the early morning in Epcot and going to MK in the late morning/early afternoon. Here's a link someone posted to the marathon 'map' - http://psc.disney.go.com/dwws/media/MarathonMap04.pdf may give you a better idea of areas you may want to avoid at certain times. We're not at all worried about crowds that weekend - every post I've read from someone who's been there has said it was a great time to go - and maybe being around all those 'fit' people by the pool will inspire me to start running again!:smooth:
Hope all your plans fall into place and that you have a magical trip!
