UGH! Putting away Christmas stuff!

Just taking a break! What a chore! Hate to see it all be put away but wow my house is so much bigger now!

I am dreading it - I should be doing it today, as I have the day off. But, all the furniture moving, tote-hauling, box lifting.....it's tiring me out just thinking about it.

I've been intending to do this all week. I have everything gathered in one room ready to be packed away - still have to take down the tree. Then, I got the flu and gave it to the rest of the family. Maybe I'll make headway today between mopping up after my DD who is sick.

I thought I was the only one that wasn't done! I have to get it done by Saturday because our DS is having his birthday party. I don't want Christmas around for a mid-January birthday!

I guess I'd better get off the Boards and get to work.

I noticed that my house looks so EMPTY!.so I can relate to the bigger part!....I really need to start decorating!...and I still have Christmas stuff on the dining room table...sigh...

I'll make you all feel better and tell you that I am not taking mine down until after February 14th!! That's right February 14th! My DS graduates from Marine boot that day and I wanted to have it up so he could have a little Christmas when he gets home. He has been gone since November 18th so we are going to have a Thanksgiving meal too!!

Just thought I'd let y'all know you're not the worst procrastinators.

I on the other hand am just procrastinating. I just hate puting it all back - and last year the boxes stayed in the garage because DH never got around to putting them in the attic

I thought I was the only one who's not done yet! My DM likes to wrap & pack the ornaments, I take them off the tree. It'll be done by this evening. Then I can have my living room back to the way it should be!

We may HAVE to keep our tree up till next year, because I can't get it to come apart!! This was our first year for our new 9-ft. pre-lit tree. I had the ladder to take the very top (and angel) off, but I can't get the next section to separate!

My mother has a small tree with white lights. She leaves it up year-round. She just changes the ornaments seasonally. She already has a Valentine's Day tree full of hearts and candy.

She also does St. Patty's, Easter, 4th of July, Flag Day, etc. It's cute and she says it's a lot less trouble than having to put up/take down the tree. LOL!

Sooooo glad to read this thread as I was feeling very guilty today that I still have my Christmas stuff up. Actually I started putting it away today but it is such a big job that I hate it! Hopefully I'll have it all down by the week-end or at least early next week. Tiggerkeeper you are a great Mom, have a great time when your son comes home. Merry Poppins I like the idea of the year round tree, very cute! Oh well back to work.

Why is it so much fun to put out the decorations and such a chore to put them away?

We didn't decorate this year because we were supposed to go to Houston for the holidays.

My decorations are all down...they've just been sitting on the bed in the second bedroom for about a week.
