UGH! Need Help re GAD

We are supposed to do our volunteer activity on Sunday but my son has CCD practice for his Holy Communion on 4/24.

I tried to change my activity on the portal, but I did not see an option or button.

Can I not change it because the promotion is over? I really wanted us to start volunteering and this was the perfect start. I would hate to cancel.

DS really shouldn't miss CCD either...


Any advice is appreciated!!!

You can't change anymore because the promotion is over.

Yes, unfortunately rescheduling is not permitted, mainly because any open slots in opportunities have been removed, so there is nothing to reschedule to.

The only exception is if the organization cancels and reschedules an opportunity, they can reschedule everyone that was signed up for the particular opportunity, but I believe they are restricted to the new date and not just any date.

You cannot change your activity. You can change the date and time for the one you are already signed up for.

I was able to do this when I got my blankets done early and wanted to delivery them a week before my date in the system.

Thanks all. I am going to have to cancel unless I can get a fake husband and kid to come with me... or at least get a sitter for the kid so hubby and I can go.

I really wanted my son to do a community service project and this was a great start.

Wonder if the CCD teacher will give him a pass since it's a good deed??? Ugh.

I would ask the CCD teacher if they would excuse it. Maybe leave out the fact that's it's for Disney and just say that you decided that as a family you would volunteer together (maybe say something about how church and volunteering go hand and hand?) and unfortunately that the date is the same as CCD but that they are counting on your family to be there and you don't want to back out and leave them hanging?

Just talk to the CCD teacher/director. I am a CCD teacher, and last year taught the First Communion program. We had a couple not come to practice. Just ask if it is possible to go to the church one day to practice how to come in and sit etc. It should not be a problem, however all churches are different. It is a special day for him as well to make his First Communion. Congratulations

I would contact the volunteer organization and see if they would let you do the service another day. We had to change the delivery date of the inlaws blankers-like the PP did and it was not a problem. Good luck!
