My niece asked for a pair of UGGs for Christmas, and they seem to run anywhere from $90 - $110 (I'm talking about the ones that come to about the mid-calf). Apparently, ALL the kids have them

Have any of you ever seen them on sale anywhere? I've found plenty of shoe sites with codes, but the codes cannot be applied for UGGs :( . Just wondering if any of you have any helpful hints. Thanks!

We have an Ugg outlet here in MA. That might be an option.

I also work part-time at Off Broadway Shoes and we have a brand called Bear Paws. (You can google them.) They are made by the same guy who originally designed the Uggs and are half the price. They are also sheepskin lined and are quite popular around here. I bought my niece a pair for back-to-school. She didn't care that they weren't the official Uggs. She loves them.

We also have an Uggs outlet here and their prices are lower than those I've found in department stores, but still over $100. You may want to try TJ Maxx or Marshalls, sometimes you can get lucky there.

I got my pair during the summer when Victoria's Secret was having a sale. They were still pricey, but discounted from what I had seen in stores.

Most coupons or promo codes I've seen online do not include Uggs.

Good luck! I agree with PP...if its truly the name Uggs on the back of the boot that your niece is interested in, it will be harder to find a discounted pair. But there are plenty of great knock-offs that are still warm and comfy!

they're JUST as cute!!! thanks so much for this information!

But they're not Ugg. I have a feeling that your niece will not like them. If you can't swing it to buy her the Uggs, get her a gift cert at a store that carries them.

I know that my niece (or her friends) would only want Ugg.

Ah, but don't assume that to be the case. My niece is 15 and she told me she didn't care if they were Ugg or Bear Paw. (I did ask.) They are the same and that's all she cared about.

And we've had plenty of teens come in with their parents and buy them or ask their parents to buy them, because they really are the same boot - just with a different label.

I would check e-bay. I got a pair for $97 that retail $140. You do have to be careful though that they aren't knock offs. Just check feedback....mine were fine! I also purchased both of DD9's pair off of e-bay. The kids ones are hard to find in stores. Again, both were fine. DD LOVES hers and DS5 wishes he could have a pair. They are so snuggly!;)

I agree that all girls are different. But I know for fact that my DN, 16yo would not be a happy camper if she got Bear Paw. Heck, I wouldn't either for that matter. I like Ugg. I like the name on the back.

This could turn into another designer handbag thread, I hope that it doesn't :goodvibes

Snob in my Uggs and designer handbags :rotfl2:

My niece has another aunt (other side of the family) who buys her Coach bags and shoes, Dooney & Bourke bags, all the top names. My niece uses her Walmart bag instead. Gotta love that kid!

question about the bearpaws- they are really cute- do they need to be treated to make them waterproof? how true to size are they- should we round half sizes up or down?

They only come in whole sizes. My niece said she was an 8 and that's what I bought and she can wear them fine. But I did hear a few customers over the weekend say that they had to go up a size. I don't know if they were half sizes rounding up, but I would definitely say go up if you're a half size. I normally wear an 8 1/2 or a 9 and although it's been a while since I tried them on, I think the 9 fit just fine.

They are not waterproof. We do sell a water repellant spray that a lot of people have bought to help protect them, but even with that they won't be waterproof.

Where is the Ugg outlet in MA??? I may need to take a ride there!

There is an UGG Outlet in Wrentham. Exit 16 ( I think ) off of RT495. But, I did not find any great bargains there. Maybe you can save yourself a couple of bucks, but just don't expect it to be "true" outlet pricing.

Yep, Wrentham. I haven't been there myself however.

FYI, the Ugg outlet in Wrenthem does NOT carry the "classic" ugg style (the most popular).

I'd be driving from Maine, so the savings would be more than eaten up by the cost to drive there. Oh well. Thanks for the info though.

The bear paw ones are so cute!! I can't decide between the 8in or the 10in. I want them mid calf, maybe a touch lower so I guess the 10in? My bday is coming up so the fiance has been asking me what I want and the Target ones just seems so cheap to me so I can ask for these now!!

Glad I could help with the Bear Paw recommendation. Now if I could get all of you to come to Off Broadway in Foxboro...

just kidding. I don't work on commission.
