UCT ticket conversion / party members convert at different times?

I purchased 4 x 7 day hopper plus water park ticket for $429.95 each for my family for Spring Break. I originally planned to convert all of us to gold DVC AP's in March, however, I now have an unexpected business trip to Orlando set for Feb. 8-10. I likely will have three free evenings to visit the parks and doubt I can stay away! I will be staying in the Disney Springs area. Can I convert my UCT ticket when I visit in Feb. and my three family members convert in March? I was unsure if we all had to convert at the same time?

Also can someone confirm what I should pay for conversion and check my figures: purchase price $429.95 and DVC gold AP is $549.00 plus $34.69 tax. Conversion would be $153.74? I'm unsure if I take the UCT discounted price or gate price for the ticket for conversion. And what point to apply the sales tax.

Thanks for your help!
Tabatha

If you use the ticket 1 day then upgrade, you should receive the current Disney list price, $452.63, for the ticket towards a new AP.
The current GOLD AP price is $584.69 with tax. So you would need to add $132.06.
Have a good trip.

Yes, you can convert at different times.
You AP will expire in February 2017 and theirs will expire in March 2017.

Keep in mind that the Gold Pass has blackout dates, including March 17 through April 1 2016. Also, they do not include the water parks. They do include the photo pass and the park hopper.

Thanks Everyone.

From what I read, the gold pass is only blocked out beginning March 19? It would be a bummer if blocked out earlier in March. I

"The following blockout dates apply to the Disney Gold Pass: December 17, 2015 - January 1, 2016, March 19, 2016 - April 1, 2016, December 19, 2016 - January 2, 2017."

I read that if you use the water park option of the ticket then try to upgrade you can only upgrade to a AP that has water park option. I asked a similar question a few weeks ago. My daughter bought just a regular multiday hopper pass after reading that tip. She is going through the blackout timeframe and wants the gold AP, so will use the multiday ticket during the blackout dates, then upgrade to the gold AP the last day.

Depending on your dates, the other option would be to update to a Gold Pass and then purchase a sep annual pass for the water parks that have no blackout dates. You can save some $$ that way. I believe it is about $180 more to upgrade to an annual pass that included water parks. But an annual pass for the water parks is $110. So if you can work time for visiting theme parks around the black out dates and then plan water parks on the blackout dates, you could just get the water park annual pass and save $$ without having to upgrade everything to a pass that doesn't have blackout dates.

Just a thought.

Thanks all. Many changes to consider with the new AP options...it was much easier with the last DVC AP having the water parks included and no black out dates.

Since I have a upcoming biz trip, I'm thinking of converting my ticket to a Platinum Pass so I won't be blacked out on Mar. 19th Spring Break. The other three members of my family we will convert to Gold Pass on Mar. 19th as we leave the park.

I bought the waterparks/7 day hopper from UCT to save more money on the conversion, but have no intention of actually going to the waterparks this year. We went several times last year when the DVC AP included access so are taking a break for a bit.

Thanks Bill. Can you check my math if I go with a platinum pass? Platinum AP $691.19 - UCT $452.63 list price = $238.56?

I just upgraded a 4-day MYW park hopper to the Platinum DVC AP. I did this at Epcot's Guest Services. She first bridged my discounted UT ticket to the full Disney price. She then charged me the difference in price between the Platinum DVC AP and my MYW ticket. The price was exactly what I expected to the penny. It saved me an additional $29 on the AP.

I'm glad to hear a success story! I've never bought through UCT before and frankly am a bit nervous for the conversion.

Yes, your numbers are correct. Have a great trip.
With the platinum pass you add $106.50, and you only get the blackout dates removed. If you don't travel at Easter or Christmas you will just be giving the Mouse an extra $106.50 for each pass.

Does anyone know if the special DVC (25th Anniversary) tickets can be converted (to add extra days or add Hopper option)?
