Uberblack can pick up at MCO now

This is great (I think) for us as we were thinking of using Uber for our Dec trip. We are staying at the Swan and would usually use a towncar company. It would be great to not have to take a shuttle off site to get an Uber pick up. Does anyone know anything about Uberblack? Would it be approaching the price of a taxi or towncar? Do you need a different app? We have never used Uber before but wanted to try it this trip.

My son took Uber Black once - the fare was outrageous. Cost him $49 for what should have been a $15 taxi ride (lesson learned).
My guess is that you may do better using a town car. It can vary due to time of day and how busy they are, though.
It's all the same app. Uber Black is licensed limo drivers and their cars tend to be nicer.

THanks for the reply. I think you're right (tried to get more info online). Might as well get the Towncar especially since we will want to get to HS that night and our flight gets in at five

May be a step in the right direction though

UberBlack are luxury vehicles with a higher fare than UberX, which is why it has been permitted for pick-up at MCO. Less competition for the taxis, since the fare would be higher than a taxi fare. I just did a fare estimate on the Uber app and the range they give from MCO to Swan/Dolphin is $89-$108. Definitely more than a cab, not sure how it compares to flat rate town cars.

Thanks. That is close (or higher) to what I saw estimated on an Orlando uber driver discussion board. So Tiffany towncar is $75 for one way. And you can sometimes find coupons or discounts. Don't see any reason to switch for what may be a nicer car.
