I think the incidents occurred when it was after a large convention and there were many people waiting for many Ubers.
Uber doesn't do back ground checks and the one person who got driven and dropped off elsewhere filed a report to Uber and got no response. They went to the media and when the story aired there was still no response from Uber. Haven't seen anything about it since and it was about a month ago.
At least in Disney, the Mears taxi cars are marked and the drivers are Mear's employees.
