Uber/Lyft after MK fireworks

After leaving MK in the evening, can you walk to Contemporary (or Grand Floridian) for Uber/Lyft pick up instead of going to TTC? I’ve read plenty about problems with rideshare drop off at CR and GF to not risk it when going to MK, but much less about pick up. We probably would leave around park closing (11 pm), not immediately after fireworks, if that makes a difference.

I don't see why not. Just walk to GF and stand out front of the main entrance and call your ride. Same for CR. We usually stay at GF and BLT and that's where we meet our Lyft drivers at both resorts.

While I’m sure you could hypothetically walk to one of the resorts, I would advise you to go to the TTC, especially if you’re going to choose Lyft. Lyft drivers picking up at MK (TTC) wait in a holding lot near the STOLport, and are dispatched First In First Out to the TTC pickup location. If they are in that lot, they don’t get ride requests for other locations.

We often walk to one of the resorts, enjoy a nightcap and then order a Lyft/Uber. We have never had a problem or had to wait.

Sure. I walked to the Contemporary after a Halloween party a few weeks ago and called a rideshare. I always compare prices between Uber and Lyft and pick the cheaper option.

They’ll still be able to get them. What I mentioned only applies to Lyft.
There will still be drivers for both services in the area who will be able to get to them; it just might take a few minutes.

My main motivation for waking to CR or GF was to avoid the wait for the monorail/ferry to TTC. I guess my will depend on whether I leave late when the wait for transfer to TTC is shorter. Then I’ll know I won’t have to wait for Lyft once I’m there. But if I leave earlier and it’s long line for monorail/ferry, I might walk to CR.

I think it’s a “six of one, half dozen of the other” situation. You’re going to wait a few minutes either way.

Two things to bear in mind, on top of where you are staying
Added cost. About double regular ride share
after fireworks, VERY hard to come by

I’m staying off property, so it will be Uber/Lyft only.
