I was just considering Uber'ing my way around Orlando next time I visit. And it might not be that bad, and in fact, might save money. Lets say I actually stay at Cabana Bay for my entire stay, instead of staying at one of the WDW resorts. If I Uber from Cabana Bay to one of the parks each day, it's no more than $23 (I just used Uber for an estimate from Cabana to The Contemporary and it was MAX $23. Now, considering Cabana is MAX $195 a night, and most resorts at WDW are over $200 a night, this might be a good deal. And, you could even Uber from one park to another, instead of wasting your like waiting for the bus (the worst part about visiting WDW). Now, I wonder, how close can an Uber driver get to all the entrances to the parks at WDW? That is probably the biggest question. Anyone know? Any thoughts or opinions about this crazy idea? Thanks!

Following. I'm very curious about the Uber situation in Orlando. I use it quite often in Boston because they are so much more affordable and convenient.

I'm planning on doing this in October (with the exception of a car service from MCO to Universal). I did the math and it's way cheaper to use Uber for the week rather than paying for a rental car and valet parking at Boardwalk (self-parking at our resort utterly sucks during Food and Wine).

We've used Uber at Disney a TON in the past year or so and have had nothing but good experiences.

I am completely new to Uber and just downloaded their app. We'll be using the buses from CBR for most of our trip, but there are a couple of times while going resort to resort that I think we'll utilize it. I've seen conflicting reports about tipping. Do the drivers expect a tip? Also, how much notice should I give them about a pick up?

Drivers aren't supposed to accept cash tips, some adhere to the policy, others don't. I start looking at the app about 15 minutes before I'm ready to leave to see what the ETA looks like, then make the request based on that (i.e. if the ETA says four minutes, I wait until we're walking out the door to reserve).

Using it for resort to resort is heavenly, it cuts travel time (and taxi costs) in half.
