Simply an update to say my heart goes out to all who have suffered heartbreak from yesterdays bombing at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. I am very very grateful not to have had any loved ones at that point in the Marathon. Although 2 of my children attend college in Boston neither were there. And their friends/classmates that were there were not injured physically. They were extremely shaken by the events as some of them were close by. Hours after the event DS#2 held a dear friend in his arms as she sobbed uncontrollably. They are seeking the professionals they need to talk this thing out. We were able to visit with my son today in Boston. The city that is usually a buzz with activity, was somber today...quiet. Please, as I'm sure so many of you already are, continue to pray for all those victims, medical personal, emergency personal, investigators, law enforcement and all others who will have a long road ahead of them. Please may true justice be done.
For those of you who don't know, yesterday was a Massachusetts holiday. Patriots Day. To remember those men that fought for the Revolutionary War. The battles of Lexington & Concord, the shot heard round the world. The first battle of the Revolutionary War. Both towns are still functioning towns. It is one of many landmarks that make Bostonian's proud to be American & Bostonian's. Plymouth Plantation, the Mayflower, Salem Witch Trials, Boston Commons, The Freedom Trail, Olde North Church, Fanuel Hall, Lexington Concord, Scituate where the Bates sister are said to have scared off an army of Britts by banging pots & pans together, Gloucester. MA holds much history of our country. Some good, some bad. I pray yesterday will only be remembered as a day heroes emerged, angels were made, but evil did not win. That Boston & it's marathon will rise up as a Phoenix from the ash of evil.
Everywhere you go around the city and in the suburbs around where I live, you hear voices praising other communities for their support. NY our sport rival offering prayers and support. New Orleans. Atlanta. All having had their share of heart ache. They are reaching out to us, and it is not going unappreciated. This Bostonian thanks you all so very much. You hear it in their voices. I have seen what appear to be the toughest of men, with tears in their eyes as they see prayers on the side of buildings. Prayers for our victims. Bostons victims. From those cities that have experienced horror. Thank you.
Very well written.....we have been and will continue to pray for your city and the victims.![]()
Another sad day..l. but some of the people who rushed in to help, so gutsy... it gives you hope. Thinking of you and praying for your people, Boston!
You wrote this so well... My prayers continue to anyone and everyone who needs them. ((( Hugs)))
D~
so heartfelt & eloquently written Dee Its true that the whole country pulls together during times like this, so sad that's what it takes I haven't said much about it try not to even watch the news too many memories of 9/11 so sad
I must send heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the tragedy in Texas. May the lone star state never feel alone through this disaster. Prayers to all.
Today again, I am not feeling myself. By the time I actually come back on to do a WDW update I will have to reread my PTR to see what I have said & what I haven't.
I hope all my disboard friends are safe, gaining strength to those struggling physically or emotionally.
God bless all and Dee I pray you start feeling better...always on my mind my friend

Popcorn & Wonderful World of Color. yup. I think popcorn is one of those smells, that can bring you right back to a special time in your life. My brother was in AA (deceased now). Some years after my brothers death I had cause to be in touch with the man who was his AA sponsor. He stopped by my house & I, being hospitable made some microwave popcorn & coffee. He started cracking up laughing. Then told me a story of when my brother brought him to meet each of us, my Mom, myself, then each of my brothers, in our individual homes, Every one of us offered him popcorn. So, all these years later when I offered him popcorn he asked laughing, "what's with your family & popcorn?". I laughed. Then realized later... it was cheap. We never had a lot of money when we were kids, so dessert or snacks were home popped popcorn, or homemade Jello. I wouldn't change one of those memories.
Thanks Ruthie for the reminder. And of course the well wishes.

I am almost certain we will be canceling the Sanna and either Restaurant Marrakesh or Teppan Eco. I can't see how I will be able to save enough money for all of these ADR's.
Our game plan will most likely be a decent breakfast at either a TS or at the villa. Then off to a park. Depending on the weather we will either come back to the resort for a swim/nap & lunch or if we are not melting from the heat & decide to stay in the park(s), we will grab fruit for lunch. As you can see most of the TS meals are dinner. So, just grabbing fruit for lunch will allow us to have plenty of room for a full dinner. On the days we don't have a TS we will grab a CS somewhere. If at the MK most will get Caseys. I will get something elsewhere as I don't like hot dogs. Usually, it would be a choc chip cookie ice cream sandwich from Main St. bakery, but since that will most likely be closed .... I may grab something from Gastons Tavern. MK is the only park that has CS that the family MUST have. Other than Caseys we aren't set on any CS food. So, the other parks we may try something new. I am inclined to insist on a rest back at the hotel. If the others are dead against it, I will most likely find a first aid station and let my vertigo resolve there a little while. That has worked well in the past for me. DH drops me off at the 1st aid. I rest there for some time, then when my vertigo resolves a bit I call them and they come back and get me. While I am resting they do rides, or see shows. It all works out well. I am extremely grateful for the disboard disability thread that helped me out so much over the years. After my first visit with vertigo I thought I would never be able to enjoy a trip to WDW again. Thanks to them, I have just worked my vacation around my disability. I could not express my appreciation enough.
DDBF comes home from Japan tonight. I will be very relieved when he is home safe. DD told him he can no longer leave the country, because since he has left there has been too much tragedy in the USA. I think he is okay with that. Atleast for now. He is very happy to be coming home. I keep teasing DD and telling her he will probably show up at the airport with a diamond ring for her & propose to her right then & there.
I love to get her thinking.
Yesterday both our DD's were at church with DH & I. That is a bit of a rarity. Well DH for some reason has been very emotional lately. He started tearing up. He said he kept picturing DD#1 at the alter.
So, I jumped on the opportunity and asked DD#1 if she thought her BF would ask DH for her hand in marriage & tell him not to tell me.
I love to get her thinking. When her BF finally does ask her to marry him. Whenever that may be. She will have no idea. Whenever they go out somewhere I ask her if she has done her nails. I have been doing this to her for about 6 months now.
Poor kid. Every time he doesn't ask her she is probably secretly a little disappointed. hehehe I'm such a stinker. They have been dating for over 5 years, so I am sure it is just a matter of time before the get engaged.
Well, I have rambled enough for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.
See what I'm trying to tell you here ??Family memories good times

It looks like the only park we overlap in is on Aug 20 at MK... That is our arrival night and we plan to dip in to MK for a little bit. Not sure if you are planning to park hop on any of your days? But judging by your meals, it doesn't look like any of our other parks/days are the same???
I hope there is a ring for dd soon in the future.
D~
D~ We do park hop...alot when we are there. Maybe the best thing would to exchange phone #'s before we leave & see how things work out when we are there. WE too arrive on the 20th, but not until late. We will have about enough time to ck into the hotel & get to our ADR's.
Hey I hope you want MINE![]()
I already have yours Ruthie.
Dee... Yes, let's exchange #s... I will PM mine to you.
