We are headed back to WDW in the fall, and I’d like to take the family to a resort restaurant we have never been to. Fact is, we don’t get around to other resorts much. It’s supposed to be a budget trip, and this might be our only dining reservation. Our kids are 13-18 years old.

We have stayed and dined at the Poly. We have also done Hoop multiple times. Other than that, we just keep it to the parks.

I am looking for some recommendations for any meal, really. I always try to plan something new to us, and I think it would be fun.

$$$ option: California Grill with a reservation around 7:30 pm so you can see the MK fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant from the Contemporary’s rooftop. It really is magical and memorable.

$$ option: Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner, get ice cream at Gasparilla’s, and you can walk out to the docks by Narcosseee’s and see the MK fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant. Low key fun and magical.

Our favorite Disney restaurant is Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food is terrific and you can go out and view some of the animals, if they are around, after dinner. Also, if you have a Disney VISA you get a 10% discount on the food.

We like Olivia's at OKW. The prices aren't horrifying, and they also give the Disney VISA discount . Take a bus from your resort to Disney Springs and then the boat to OKW.

Steakhouse 71 has always been good, and once again they offer that 10% Disney VISA discount. You could watch the MK fireworks from the Contemporary Deck after dinner.

Are you open to Disney Springs? Jaleo, Morimoto, and Boathouse are favorites. We also used to love Raglan Road but I've been reading that it's not what it used to be... but really, who knows?

ETA Grand Floridian Cafe is also a solid choice (and they too give the 10% Disney VISA discount)!

We are staying at All Star Music.

Some good recommendations there. We have stayed at the Poly 4 times, but never got off the Monorail at GF.

I love your Disney Visa Discount advice. I’ve been thinking of getting one and it sounds like it’s worth it!

:offtopic: You don’t have to do the credit card. A Chase checking account can request a Disney Debit card for free and you get the Disney Discounts when you use it. (If new to Chase Checking make sure to open under a new customer bonus offer.)

Geyser Point WL. And they don’t even take ADRs, so you can just walk up with usually a short wait. Bus to MK, enjoy the boat ride over to WL and dinner by the water. Its outside but there is a large shelter over it from the weather. Budget friendly for TS.

Another recommendation for dining at AKL. Boma is amazing, but Sanaa is a great choice, as well. Might be worth a look at their menus. And if you have an ADR at AKL, it's a great place to arrive an hour early and check out the resort and the animal viewing locations. If you dine at Sanaa while it's still light out, the animals are walking and grazing right outside the restaurant - a very unique experience.

Steakhouse 71 at Contemporary is an excellent choice. Great food and we find the prices very fair as far as Disney restaurants go.
