U 2 hot to trot, or walk, or ride rides or...?

Well here is the update.... there is really no update on the trip. ;)

Circumstances arouse today to speak with DS#1 (the one with gf) about gf coming with us. We told him that not everyone would be comfortable with her coming. And if this was other than a special occasion vacation she would be welcome. But it is not fair to make the guests of honor to be uncomfortable. We told him it is not set in stone, but we don't think it is a good idea. He had told us he wasnt' sure if he was going to be able to afford to come prior to us having this talk with him. I sincerely from the bottom of my heart hope he comes and that he understands the dilemma.

I didn't have a chance to call Disney today to see about adding DS#2 to our BoG ADR. maybe tomorrow.

Here we are "talking" on D's PTR and I just found and read YOUR Aug PTR so hello :wave2:

First of all my deepest sympathies for your Dad Its heartbreaking and we are never prepared

I wanted to share something with you the year I was 11 and in 6th grade we moved from the city to Long Island it was April with only 2 more months to go in the school year. To me it was not only culture shock but devastating as so much is to a kid that age. The next month May my favorite Uncle was killed in a horrific accident..his wife my Aunt was 9 months pregnant with their first child That Sept my Grandfather died, the DAY he was buried my Dad was admitted to the Veterans Hospital (which ended up being for 9 months) for tuberculosis For a long time my parents said they felt like the Kennedys with so much happening ALL the time

The ONLY reason I am telling you all of this is to say that planning this Surprise BD trip for DD 10th Birthday is the BEST thing you could have EVER done, for her especially, but for ALL of you...will there be moments of sadness ? of course there will be Will there be moments of laughter as you relate memories or share Bumpa would have liked..?..you can count on it

I moped around for the better part of a year as a pre-teen and in my family everyone pulled into themselves and dealt with the feelings on their own. Dad was the "glue" and since he wasn't available it was very traumatic.

I admire your spirit in dealing with your medical condition and you are very blessed and the nice thing is you know it

It was nice to "see" you and DH, I am going to go and read your other trips

If there is anyway you find time ( and would like to) meet during your trip I would enjoy that very much

Oh one other thing you referenced DS and DSGF and whether anyone would judge you...well if they did then they are not a friend, and don't deserve to ever be one ;)

It is now 10:16 pm and just shy of 4 hours later I have read all of everything

Where to start on comments ? First I LOVE your writing style, and how unique that each link was a small summary ie-when you met, loved how you got engaged, the wedding, like I said LOVE the writing style I felt many times like I was right there with you. Several times I teared up, the renewal in the same church with the same priest, how awesome is that ??

Your Dad, bless his heart, coming the next morning that picture of the 2 of you is wonderful something that can be treasured for the rest of your life What a blessing  so touching

Phineas & Ferb and the communicating your DH "What do you want man ?!" :rotfl2: I thought I would pee my pants :rotfl: He must be a riot at charades ;)

Loved your DD with the Fairy Godmother in training I could see the real emotion on the CMs face In this day & age with so many spoiled and entitled children (and their parents) it IS a joy to see a truly grateful child

Most impt your VR and recapping of your lives touched me very deeply and I am truly grateful that I found it...I won't go into it here but just to say my husband and I have been together since 1983 and have been going through a real bad patch for awhile now...you kind of opened my eyes to many things (those t-shirts were a real eye & heart opener for me) so thank you :goodvibes

Ruthie, Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. How difficult that part of your life, especially as a child, must have been. My heart ached reading it.

I do think this trip will be good for the entire family.

I know I shouldn't care about others judging. But, that is part of what makes me I suppose. Honestly I only care about if from those that don't truly know me. I think sometimes it is too easy to analyse someone incorrectly from the written word, when you don't truly know them. Most of the time me knowing I am a good person is enough.

Yes, I am truly lucky to realize how blessed I am. I just need to remember to stay OFF that pity potty. ;)

I am honored you spend 4 hours reading my PTR & TR. You are brave. :)
Your words are very kind. Thank you. I had never written a PTR or TR before, so I probably include things that I were boring to others and forgot things I should have included. Truly, sincere thanks for reading it.

I am pleased my story touched you. Best of luck to you & your husband. I will remember you in my prayers.

I am a strong believer of what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. And that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. I'm not sure if I included in my looonnnnggg PTR, but DH & I tried to have children for 8 years before our triplets were born. During that time I wondered why I couldn't have children when there were so many that had them & didn't love or care for them. Then, when the time was right I was shown. Because if I had become pregnant when I wanted with what was to be my pregnancy, I never would have been able to handle it. 3 children when I was only in my early - mid 20's. That would have been tough. From that moment on, I learned I may not always know why, but there is a why somewhere to be answered when I can handle it. :) This faith made loosing my brother in a motor vehicle accident at the hands of a crazy driver (in a different vehicle) much easier to live through.

btw, I love your signature. ;)

Oh, I hear you on the kid issues--dealing with the significant others and the rescue syndrome, all of it, sigh.....

BTW, can you transfer points? I find it easier to transfer points from another member so I can keep control of the reservation. Yes, I'm a real control freak, YMMV.

I'm also a luggage addict; what stops me from overrunning the house is that we have NO attic and no basement, plus no room in the garage for anything but our cars. It's quite restricting, which isn't always a bad thing lol.

My neighbor always says "kids... it's a 4 letter word.".

I think I have found someone that will transfer the points for me. fingers crossed. I too want to be in control. Love the luggage. love it.

Once I figure out what's going on with renting the points I will do an update.

Just stopping by to say hi. :)

I am so glad you were able to talk to DS, I know it's something that you were not looking forward to. I hope it all comes out OK in the end.

So many sad stores and heartache poured here in the last day... (((Hugs))) Just know that all of you are in my mind and prayers... I agree with you Dee - we may not always know the why - but it will be shown to us when we need to know it and when we can handle it.

D~

LOL I thought of it when I first read it,, but now I am drawing a blank.

I just logged on to check something. But, I do have a samll update coming later.

Here is the promised update. Although it is not much!

DS#2 has purchased his airline tickets. We still don't know about DS#1 if he will come without his gf or not. Time will tell. Also, I called about adding him to our BoG adr. The cm told me going from a party of 5 to a party of 6 won't be a problem. She said she can't officially add him to the guest because there are NO modifications allowed because it is so booked. She said with a party of 5 it would be a "table top" of 4 and a "table top" of 2. So there will not be an issue. Although, she did say she can not guarantee that, but she would plan on that. So, we are very happy. Now we will only have to worry if DS#1 does decide to come. But, I will worry about that when/if the time comes.

We have decided to rent dvc points in order to acquire a 2 bdrm for the last 3 nights of our trip. However the companies that rent them will not transfer to our account. They actually make the reservation for you. Which is great except once made you can not change it. Our issue is that the 2 bdrm at BWV was only available for the last 2 nights of our stay. So, we were hoping to get the amount of points transferred into our dvc account to cover all 3 nights, then we could go on the waitlist for the 1st night. Then IF it opened up & we could grab it.

Well, I saw on there rent/trade board a member who had amost the exact # of points we needed, and he was looking to transfer them. I contacted him, asked him a couple of questions. He got back to me. There was a day or two lapse in communicating. I understand that....life goes on besides these boards. Meanwhile I have been in touch with one of the companies incase this man didn't seem legit. I put a hold on the company while I waited for answers to my questions from the private renter. Tonight we pretty much finalized that we would pay him to transfer his points into our account. But of course we would have to wait until dvc phone lines opened tomorrow.
In the meantime I have been checking dvc online for availability of the 2 bedroom for all 3 nights. And GUESS WHAT! It opened up. The 1st night opened up. Perfect. BUT, the private renter can't transfer them until tomorrow. Well I was so nervous, I kept checking dvc online afraid those 3 nights would be scooped up. Which would be so foolish of me if.... it didn't happen.:headache::mad: BUT it did! The first night is not available ...again. I will still go ahead & rent the entire points with my original thought. Go on the waitlist, and maybe it will come through. :confused3 It certainly won't ruin our trip if we have to "settle" for a 1 bedroom, but it would be nice to not have to worry about moving. The good thing is BWV will probably put us in a 1 bdrm with lock off studio, then when we switch to a 2bdrm they will just unlock the door. Making 1bdrm + studio = 2bddrm. That is what they did in the opposite last stay. We had a 2 bdrm for the first part of the trip & a studio for the last night. They just locked the 1 bddrm side. Making 2bdrm - 1bdrm = studio. They are pretty thoughtful that way.:)

On a personal note: Although my triplets all started college together, they will not finish together. Due to their heart ache of loosing so many loved ones 2 of them ended up withdrawing from some/all classes during 1 semester each. They are now getting the help they need, but graduation for those 2 will be delayed. DD should graduate in August, and DS#1 in December.
DS#2 has been in counseling for a while due to some serious bullying when he was young, so he already had the coping skills in place when he experienced these losses. He will graduate on time. Which I am proud to say is in...34 days!! He has already told me he is GETTING a just graduated button in Disney. :thumbsup2 He is my Disney child. He loves it. It is his goal to be employed by Disney for his career. He worked for the Disney Store locally a few years back.
It will be difficult to show extreme excitement for this son, because I know the other two's hearts will be aching for themselves. Even if they are overjoyed for their brother. I refuse to dampen his experience by not being fully excited. I have already spoken to the other 2. They understand. But, this is one of those down sides to multiples.

Wish me luck on the point transfer tomorrow. I have never done this.
Good night!

The :cheer2: cheering squad for DVC points and plans working out are in full force here for you today ! I expect to check later and see great news :goodvibes

Have a blessed day

Ruthie

I hope that you are able to get everything worked out, you still have some time for the DVC to pull through - right?

I can't imagine how hard it must be with multiples and always showing the same amount of affection with each. I do have the same struggle with my girls - and they are not multiples. I hope that everything works out well there.

And congrats on DS2 getting his flights! WHOOT!!!

I have not checked ours for a few days - I forgot -OOPs, hopefully I didn't miss anythign.

D~

Oh I do hope the 2 bdrm opens up again!! I can understand how you feel about DS's graduation and I think it's great that you are going to still celebrate with him. It is an awesome accomplishment.

I hope that you can get everything worked out and end up with the rooms that you want!

As a university student, I can completely understand why your children needed to lessen their course loads a bit. I had to do this as well. The important thing is that they are taking care of themselves and their health and they will graduate in the end!

Thanks for the cheering squad. We shall see in the end how it works.

Come on D~ stay on checking those flights. don't want to miss a good deal. :goodvibes

Thanks for the congrats on DS2 getting his flights. I am pleased.

You are right, multiples or not it seems showing equal attention is difficult. When one of them does something exceptionally nice I always tell them "that's why you are my favorite". :lmao: They will never be able to figure out WHO is REALLY my favorite. JK, I like all moms don't have a favorite. They each have something about them that I love more than the others, but none enough to actually be a favorite.

Oh I do hope the 2 bdrm opens up again!! I can understand how you feel about DS's graduation and I think it's great that you are going to still celebrate with him. It is an awesome accomplishment.

Thanks Bridget. DS has worked exceptionally hard. He has had a lot of struggles himself. His freshman year he had a roommate that was not even close to a good fit. Looking back now it is somewhat comical. I kept thinking that DS was being too critical. (he can be) Then we went to visit one day. My sons side of the room was spotless (no big surprise there he is a bit ocd about his bedroom.) His roommates was disgusting. The extreme filth was exemplified by the stench of the tea he drinks being left in his tea cup to the point there was mold on it! But, DS was so frightened of getting someone worse he stuck it out. During the year he made a couple guy friends and 1 of them became his roommate for sophomore & junior year. Since his roommate was going to move off campus for senior year DS decided to apply for a single & got it.

At the end of this I'll give the vacation update.

I hope that you can get everything worked out and end up with the rooms that you want!

As a university student, I can completely understand why your children needed to lessen their course loads a bit. I had to do this as well. The important thing is that they are taking care of themselves and their health and they will graduate in the end!

I hope it does too!

I hear lessen the course load is very common. Thanks for the reassurance.

I have to run unexpectdly. I will update later.

Sorry I left without an update last post. My brother stopped by unexpectedly. We used to spend alot of time together, but due to a job switch that changed a few years go. So to have him stop by like he used to...well that was a thrill.
We had a cup of coffee, and a nice chat.

Now, on with the update.

When I last updated I was writing about the failed attempt to rent points in time to have them transferred and pay for our dvc 2bdrm at BWV that we desired.
But due to the renter being unavailable, and the high demand for these accommodations that was as I said a failure.

This morning the renter called as he said he would. When he realized I was trying to get a high demand ressie, he waived the good faith deposit and we got them transferred quickly. I had never done this before. It was actually a very easy process. We conference called and it was done in minutes. He was even kind enough to tell me to make my ressie, then worry about transferring the money to his paypal from mine. I thought that was so sweet! I asked the cm on the phone when the points would be available to me & was advised immediately. Since I didn't see the points I took the renter up on his offer. I was just praying the cm had not made some weird error & transferred them into the wrong account. Although I knew that was unlikely. I decided to hang up & call back to a different cm, as I had slight difficulty understanding this cm. We disconnected the call. I immediately called back, all the time watching my dvc account online, and still no points! When I spoke with the cm she advised me transferred points don't show up online. OH! thank goodness...perhaps the other cm might have mentioned that. But, all is well that ends well. So, I attempted to book my 3 nights at the BWV 2bdrm. But, as I suspected only 2 nights were available. This is were it was important for me to be able to have the points I rented transferred into my account instead of just having someone make them for me. Now I can be put on a waitlist. If the 1st night becomes available..whammy they will book it for me! In the meantime I reserved the 2 nights that are available. And booked a 1 bedroom, same view. We are hoping that will work out to be the same 1bdrm turned 2bdrm so we won't have to move rooms. Atleast we will be ending the vacation with plenty of room, allowing the girls to both get a great night sleep in their own beds. ... unless.... unless I decide to allow the boys the extra bedroom and have the girls sleep on the pull out queen size sleeper. NO. that just wouldn't be right. :rolleyes1
So, for now we have 4 reservations under our name. :dance3: >(I need an extra showering guy here). They are, incase you are as confused as I am.

3 nights AKV studio
3 nights BWV studio (for DS#2 & DDBF)
1 night BWV 1bdrm (DH, me, and both DD's)
2nights BWV 2bdrm (DH, me & both DD's....maybe)

I am pretty excited. Of course I have to do some hefty penny saving to gain back the budget money I just spent. But, I am willing to. I have to go now, I am using to much electricity for my computer. ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Dee

OMG! ROFL!!! Seriously - if I could get off this computer, I could probably afford to go to Disney every other month. :rolleyes1

Now, that's a thought to ponder... :scratchin

D~

Things are looking good :cool1: It will all work out in the end

You know we're laughing about the electricity thing BUT my bill came down about $25.00 - $30.00 a month after talking to a kind electric company customer service rep who taught me We have SO many things plugged in that we aren't even aware of that are sucking up power when not being used, bedside lamps, toaster, microwave, washer dryer, TV you walk around your house you'll be shocked, she even told me if not home why heat water all day, I shut the breaker off to the electric H2O heater if I'm gone all day and put it back on when I get home :thumbsup2 every penny saved =Disney $$$ :)
