I'm planning my first solo trip for May of 2006. I'm VERY excited....of course I was just there with my niece in May of this year and my whole family (ten of us) in December of 2004...so naturally I have had several "Yes, I am going to Disney AGAIN." conversations.

My dad thinks I'll be lonely (in Disney?) and my
brother just thinks I'm nuts and should go to Vegas instead (THERE I'd be lonely!) and wants me to wait until we all go back in 2008.

2008?! Is he nuts? I can't wait that long!
:rotfl: Of couse I will be be HAPPY to go with them in 2008 too! But May 2006 is MY trip! The trip where I get to do all the stuff that no one else ever wants to do....like the KTTK tour and watching some movies in Exposition Hall and Hall of Presidents and RNR over and over again, going to Wishes every night!

On top of going AGAIN, no one gets that I don't mind going solo...well, I don't think I will, I've never done it, but from reading some fab solo trip reports here, I think it'll be great! :cheer2: ... I hope!

That's the great thing about the DIS - the rest of the world may not understand, but other DISers will!

I get the same comments: "Disney AGAIN?" "You're going ALONE?" "Why don't you go somewhere else?" I just smile and go about planning my next WDW trip. :earboy2:

While my family enjoys WDW trips, they don't like to go as often as I do. I can either limit my amount of visits, or I can go solo. I choose to go solo! So far, it seems to be averaging out that my family wants to go about 1/3 of the amount of times I do - that means I get a couple of solo trips between each family trip. I love my solo trips and find them much more relaxing than family trips. But I do miss my family, so after a couple of solo trips, I'm really looking forward to the next family trip. It works out great!

When I was planning my first solo trip, I got a lot of resistance. My DH and my mother were worried about my safety. Friends and other family members were afraid I'd get lonely. But after everyone heard what a great (and safe!) time I had on my solo trip, they relaxed a bit. Now I barely get a raised eyebrow when I tell family and friends that I'm going to WDW again. It seems to be the casual acquaintances, those people who really don't know me that well anyway, that still make the comments.

I have a solo trip planned for December. Then, next summer, it will be time for the next family trip. I've already started planning that trip, and I'm very excited about it. But I don't think I would be nearly as excited about the family trips if I didn't have my solo trips in between. Disney addict that I am, I need both! :goodvibes

I too am going solo. I have a trip booked leaving 11/1/05 for a 4 night stay. I am thinking of changing this to 10/30/05 (yes! this Sunday!) and making my stay for 6 nights.

I have a season pass, got a R/T flight for $135.00 (pretty good, huh!) and I do not feel like being rushed on my trip. I think 6 nights may better suit me.

I have never gone on a solo trip, but I think I will LOVE it. I have the Poly booked (yup...I am REALLY treating myself!) Pretty pricy for only 1 person, but you only live once! My kids are grown (I am 54 years old), work hard at my job every day and am so looking forward to thus. My DH likes Disney but has no desire to go again. I LOVE Disney and can't wait to go again.

So...will I be happier with 6 nights alone or should 4 nights do it. I can't help but feel that 4 nites will tide me over and 6 nights will elate me!

I was to be returning today from my SOLO trip I play Paintball and twice a year we play at WWoS and these are my SOLO trips well thing happened to my team and we are not playing .But I decided to go anyhow money was set aside for playing and so forth anyhow.
Well as I talked to DW and was booking my trip and talking of DD B-day party expences I did a quick adding and Gave DD the option of a party at home with friends or a party with Tink for a small trip .Guess what she jumped at it . Now she had to say sorry to all her friends as we ussally go all out for the partys (only child sydrom).
We also just Became SSR owners as well and I will use it for small trips solo as well I get way more VAC time then DW but thats how it goes.
I never take away from family trips as I do all the planning and they just have to SHOW UP with never having a complaint well maybe the one of a need a vac. from my vac.
Anyhow SOLO's are great and so is DISNEY and thats the bottom line so ENJOY

I go to WDW between 4 to 7 times yearly.

most people here don't even try to tease me. My boss did (he use to be a WDW nut). Says I should go to other places - so I did. I missed WDW so much. Besides in some of these other places Spicey is not welcomed.....

so after I came back and I complainted about my OTHER trips so much. He dropped it.

WDW I love. I like to go to places that I love.

I joined DVC in 93 - you are gonna love it!!!

I just went in August, but it was with DH, and my family.

We are planning a trip in Dec 2006 with my MIL.

I'm currently devising a plan to go in Feb 2006 also, because I just can't wait that long!

I don't even tell people at work anymore - they all think I'm crazy!

I just returned from my first non-solo trip to Disneyland. Though it was fun to have my mom there, I sometimes missed being solo. First of all, go you do way more in 1 day, and secondly, you only do what you want during the day (I hated havind to go more than once on that stupid Pooh-ride!)

I am planning my (first) WDW trip, which will be next year in June, and will probably be solo too!
As if you ever get lonely at Disney... 3/4 of the time you are standing in line with a zillion people in front of you, and a zillion people behind you. There is ALWAYS someone to talk to!

My husband's family and my family don't even bother any more. My husband's older daughter (age 32) is probably the only one who feels the way we do, although it looks like his younger daughter (age 30) will be making a trip to the Food and Wine Festival next year.

My friends just put up with me. None of them are Disney fanatics.

I love how the " Your going to Disney AGAIN??? " comment always seems to be so loud and high pitched by my co-workers when I start my count down at work till I go. ( I work in retail as a manager, how I get through the Holiday madness is my trip to WDW when the snow is nasty and horrible ) My Family has got used to that every vacation DH and I go on is to Disney. I think if we went somewhere else they would think something is wrong.

Thnkfully, many in my family have gotten past Disney AGAIN....they now ask when is your next DIS trip and what the cast will be, if any :smooth:

As for the casual aquaintances that say AGAIN, let's just say I get the magic and they don't, too bad for them

i admire you for going solo. i don't think i can ever do it. i had a taste of being alone in WDW during our last trip. rob had a police interview in Margate, 3 hours away, and left me behind. though i got to go on the rides that he won't go on, Dumbo and Peter's Pan flight, and see shows that he won't see, like Story Time with Belle, i was a bit lonely. i had a lot of fun but i wanted him with me to enjoy the fun as well. you're a brave soul. i hope you have a great time in WDW.

tinkerbela.......not so brave!....think about it...if you only had two options.....go solo or don't go at all....I bet you would go!

I expect I might get a little lonely, but since I'm the only true Disney "nut" in the family, I'm excited to do things no one else ever wants to do....like the KTTK tour and going to Wishes every night or exploring more of the resorts, watching movies in Exposition Hall, going to Festival of the Lion King two shows in a row, checking out a pin trading night at the Contemporary, just sitting on Main Street to people watch, ect, ect.....

I'm not sure how it will go, it might be my only solo trip, then again it might be the first of many! :teeth:

I'm with all of you that get the Disney again questions from family/friends/co-workers. I get that from the majority of people, except my parents. They're at the point where they know that on the way home from a trip to WDW I'm already thinking about my next trip. They know that there is nowhere else I'd rather go for vacation. I still get the looks and questions from others (especially by sister and her husband), but I really could care less. I decided a while ago (I'm a single 41-year old female) that if I want to go to WDW once a year or 20 times a year (NOT!) then I'm going to do it and not care what anyone else thinks.
