Typhoon Lagoon Questions

We are fans of Typhoon Lagoon and can't wait to return on our upcoming trip. I do have two questions. One, how is the transportation with all the construction and traffic at Disney Springs? Should we allow more time in the morning? Two, the water parks used to open one hour early for resort guests. Do they still do this? If not, do they let people in right at posted opening time or do they sometimes let people in a little early?

They did open early when we went this week but you couldn't go on any rides early.

I just want to be able to stake out a good spot. My sister doesn't do slides, so we pick out a central location with some shade and she stays with our stuff, passing the time reading while we go on the slides.

I work at Typhoon Lagoon. The construction situation in the Downtown Disney area changes frequently...lanes open, lanes close, lanes are diverted, etc. I have experienced no problems or delays whatsoever driving to or from work.

Guests can enter the park early*ish*, but the attractions are roped off until the official park opening time.

I was there the other day (and also spent 2 days at BB). All three days they opened the parks about 15 minutes early so people could rent lockers/towels, but you couldn't get to the chairs or the slides/pools/rivers until very close to 10.

We were there last week . Tues. and Wed. and we were never let past the rope early and in fact for Blizzard Beach the role wasn't dropped until closer to 1010, when it was supposed to open at 10. I was really surprised as all the regular parks did drop ropes early.

Also, going to the water parks were never an issue, but coming back from Typhoon Lagoon is a pain. There's no direct service, you have to go to Epcot unload, walk to your resort bus stop and then wait in line for a resort bus. It's really aggravating and honestly would make me hesitate to go back even though I prefer TL over BB.
