Typhoon Lagoon Question~Help!

Can children wear life vests on the slides on Typhoon Lagoon? I have a 6yo who can swim, but I'm afraid of her hitting the waist deep pool at the bottom of the slides and becoming disoriented due to the churning, etc. I would feel a lot better if she has a life vest. BTW, she is 42 inches so she can do most of the slides. Can she ride with me or her Dad on any of the slides?

As for the tube slides-- I do know they don't allow 2 riders per tube. I honestly don't know the answer to your life jacket question. I don't recall ever seeing one on someone on a slide. However, that isn't a firm yes or no.
I would be sure that your child is a strong swimmer before taking them on the waterslides that dump you in a pool at the end.

Many waterparks, like the ones in Six Flags, won't allow wave shirts to be worn.

I didn't see any kids being allowed to wear any flotation devices at all. We were there this past Jan. when there were about 9 people in the all of Blizzard Beach and we had to take our short wet suits off to use the slides.

That being said, there is a lifeguard right there at the bottom of every slide who's sole purpose is to ensure the safety of the person landing at the bottom of the slide.

That's better than the beach!

Enclosed tube slides are 1 rider, the open slides allow 2 at a time. I don't think you can wear a life jacket, however, most of the slides have inner tubes that you must use. Your daughter will land in the water sitting in an inner tube, either with a parent or right after. You could go down the slide first and watch while she lands in the water. The lifeguard will tell you to get out of the pool, but you can at least watch her arrive and help if necessary. They try to accomodate people, at least they were very nice when I went with my autistic son in March. They would tell him when to start sliding, so I could go first and wait at the bottom. He loved it.
