We had planned all along to do Blizzard Beach, but my kids saw the Disney planning dvd and they had the thing where you can swim with the sharks so now they want to do that instead.

We like slides where you sit in the inner tubes, and not necessarily the wedgie-makers. But we need a thrill here and there.

Can you give me the pros and cons of each water park?

TL has new tube slides that are excellent. You also have the wave pool that kids love.

Typhoon Lagoon is phenonimal. BB has more "thrill" slides, but TL has a good selection of trills and family. If you want to do JUST thrills, BB has the better selection. Shark Reef is great, but it can get crowded mid-day. Though it will be a bit chilly, I recommend it first thing in the morning before the crowds hit.

For me, Typhoon Lagoon is more of a relaxed, laid back water park. Here, you have an AMAZING wave pool, a very relaxing lazy river, and some fun water slides.
Blizzard Beach has more thrills. You have more water slides, a GREAT family raft ride, Summit Plummit(the best), but a small wave pool.
Whichever park you choose, I know that you will have a great time!!!

We liked Typhoon Lagoon. It has the Crush n Gusher water rollercoaster, which you ride in tubes. It also has a family tube ride, not as long a ride as the one at BB. It has some other tube rides that we liked also. Actually, one causes you to bounce, sort of shakes you. I couldn't stop laughing on this one.

WAVE POOL! That wave pool at TL is amazing. It truly is a 6ft wave coming at you every 90 seconds. There is no jumping over it. We were standing in water up to our waist most of the time between the waves.

If EMH in the evening is offered while you are there, I highly recommend it. We went on our first night and hardly anyone was there at TL.

Another vote for TL. The wave pool is amazing. The lazy river is fantastic. Slides are excellent. There is more shade and it seemed less crowded than BB, though we arrived at both parks at about the same time (early).

My kids agree. We're only going to TL this trip.

Though if you have the time and the ticket-addons/money, it is worth visiting both parks, especially if you haven't been there before.

I went to both in May and BB wins hands down. While at TL we went to the shark tank... the water is freezing!!! So if your kids can handle very cold water then do, if not, don't waste your time. ;)

BB is definately our favorite. Our kids are 5 and 6. The theming at BB is great. It is designed to look like there was a freak snowstorm in Fl. and then it started to melt. The kids area in BB is IMHO way better than TL. It is really easy to watch the kids there and my kids still enjoy it. There is also an intermediate age area there. There are tube slides and medium sized slides. There is even a really cool place where the kids hold on to nets and walk on little icebergs. There are also a bunch of double tube rides that are fun too. I don't think that there are any double tubes rides at TL. We did enjoy TL but the wave pool was rough and had a really rough bottom that can scrape. BB wave pool is much smaller and has smaller waves. Both parks are soooooo much fun but I like BB the best. Have fun!

If you have small children, I like the childrens area at BB better. There are hardly no obstructive views in the whole area. I rarely lost sight of my little ones at BB while sitting in the same spot, however, at TL I had to move around quite to keep my eye on them. TL has the new water roller-coaster, I would say crouds would be larger there.

I would cast my vote for TL but it might not be for the same reasons as you.

I live right smack dab in the middle of the Province of British Columbia in Canada. The idea of a snow themed water park just doesn't appeal to me. I see enough snow during the year that I don't really want to see it on vacation too ... ;)

That being said, our last trip in 1998 we went to TL and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The shark swim was great (at least my wife said it was - I couldn't go in with broken blisters on my feet) and we loved the lounging about on the inner tubes. It made the day so relaxing ...
