I'm just putting the finishing touches on my schedule for our 7-day trip in July, and with early openings and e-night it looks like the only day we'll be able to fit in Typhoon Lagoon is on a Sunday--tell me the truth, is the weekend the absolutely worst time to go in terms of crowds? Tell the truth!

Welcome to the DIS musicmom3. I'm really glad you found us.

I would never lie to you but I've never experienced a water park before. Sad but true.

I'm bumping this back to page one for you so that our veterans can give you some advice.

Yes The weekends are busy, mainly because us locals add to all the toursists at the park. But I can reassure you that if you go right when they open, get yourself some chairs ( I like the shady area just over the wave pool to the left as you enter) and do all the rides at least onece. Escpeciially the family raft Gangplank Falls (Which gets a very long line) Then when it gets extremely busy around 1130, go to lunch and do the wave pool and lazy river and shark reef. Then rest for a while then around 4pm it starts to slow down fast. Especially on a sunday. THen you can do all the rides again.

For the past 4 years we had annuals to the water parks, so we have bee alot. But this year we just decided to build a pool instead.

Good point about being an earlybird, and thanks for the "plan of attack." I was thinking of doing the scuba pool first (from reading in the Unofficial Guide), but it makes sense to do it later in the day when the crowds thin out. I think my kids wouldn't be able to settle down anyway until they hit the slides. And I'm definitely going to stake out a shady chair!!!!

Moreover, during that time of year the waterparks are extremely busy every day of the week and often get to allowed capacity by 11 and it doesn't matter whether it is Sunday or another day.
