I am planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon for the first time in July.I will be there at opening.Where is the best shady spot to grab a lounge chair with the best view? Thanks. :earsboy:

I have no idea.
We have been once, in 2001. I dont think we sat once the whole time we were there. We put our stuff in a locker and just went.
It was a full day, no time for lying around.
Maybe someone else who goes all the time and likes to sit could tell you. :flower:

There are some shady spots between the kids play area and the lazy river

You can find a shady lounge chair if you're there first thing in the morning, and are willing to be back by the walkways and not up on top of the water's edge.

I've been three times, and each time I was over in the area by the "quiet" as in no waves, shallow area of the main pool, because I had a small child with me.

If I go just grownups, I'd probably avoid that area and try the other side over by the snorkling and Storm Slides.

Just be sure you don;t wear your best bathing suit there! The beginning of the giant wave pool is rather rough on the bottom and when the waves start you can be caught off guard. I ruined the best fitting bathing suit I ever owned there! I've never forgiven the place! That was 65.00 bucks down the drain!

Pick a spot with some shade, so if you need to rest you can without getting too burnt. If you go at opening, you will be sure to find something.

Enjoy.

Once you cross the main bridge into Typhoon Lagoon turn right and walk around the edge of the park toward the back (Mt. Mayday) area. We always are able to find a nice covered area with a picnic table and sunbeds. You can't see the wave pool from there but it's usually pretty quiet and you're protected from an afternoon shower as well as the sun.

That sounds nice, as I actually get tired of the noise from the wave pool after a while. I may try this spot next time I go!
