We are headed south for our first trip to Disney in a week or two for spring break. We are new annual pass Holders to TL and BB. My husband and I haven't been to Disney in 10 years or so, and I haven't been to the water parks in about 20 yearso_O

Our kid's ages...dd 7, ds 5, and ds 8 months at time of trip. It will be their first ttime doing anything Disney!

What to bring into park? Our own towels? Water bottles? Goggles for kids?
Really, any suggestions are welcome!

Is there a gift shop?

Also, has anyone used the cabanas? How was it?

We are staying at all star music. Im also trying to think of breakfast foods that would be good to bring and eat in room.

I feel a little lost/overwhelmed looking for answers online so hopefully y'all can help me out? Thanks!:mickeyjum

I went to a Disney water park in the eighties maybe. I'm following for input too. My Disney park tickets came with one extra fun day, and we plan on going to Typhoon Lagoon. The lifts to ride thriller falls down a mountain and the wave/surf at Blizzard Beach were not appealing to us.

As for breakfast foods or snacks for room, we use garden grocer to deliver to resort on arrival day. I over ordered for what we ate last time. But I was able to get cereals, milk, yogurt, fruits, soda, and half and half for coffee (we had a single serve coffee machine in room). The bonus was alcoholic beverages in this order. We were staying at Coronado last time, so distance to mug refill and operating hours that closed before parks was a big draw to have needs in the room. This time I'm staying at Yacht Club and plan on using the amenities for all of this. I'll likely bring fruit snacks, gold fish, and granola bars in my luggage though. All Star QS operating hours are excellent and acces to mug refill stations 24 hours self serve. You will be stuck with alcohol beverage options and pricing at the onsite sundries store during operating hours, if you want beer/wine at your room at night, stay at parks until close, and will not have a car.

We pack towels, a change of clothes, a soft side cooler full of drinks, sunscreen, sandwiches & chips, & dry shoes. Then we get a locker to hold our stuff.

Water shoes are good if you plan on doing the wave pool (rough bottom). You can buy water shoes way cheaper at a local WalMart than at the TL gift shop. Same with goggles. Bring your own towels (or rent them at TL for $2 each). And don't forget your sunscreen. You can buy all this stuff at the gift shop, but $$$$. Definitely rent a locker. Do not leave anything of value sitting on a lounge chair while you go off and play in the water. Sounds like common sense, right? But you wouldn't believe how many people don't think it's important.

I would never do any water park without water shoes or scandles

Besides sunscreen a must have is some sort of little water proof bag for any must haves on your person
if the kids have there own coast guard approver life vest I would bring them and plenty of swimmers for the little one
we live near wisconsin dells and get annual passes to a water park there
we tend to leave most items in the car instead of doing the lockers any more and go back to the car for lunch and snacks as they don't allow carry ins here

Going to echo some of the other suggestions. We always bring towels, sunglasses and sunscreen (very important in Florida). Remember that you can also bring in food and drinks (as long as no glass or alcohol). We found the restaurants at the water parks super crowded and the food was disappointing. They do have free life jackets if your kids aren't strong swimmers. Water shoes are also helpful. I forget the brand name but I have a pair that are almost like ballet shoes and also have some arch support (walking a lot on the pavement without the arch support kills my feet). Your 8 month old might like a bucket or other beach type toys. Also changes of clothes.

As much as I love and recommend eating breakfast in your room, the All Stars are right by a McDonald's. I'd eat breakfast biscuits every morning, if I was staying there! :) Also, take your kids to the Toy Story section of All Star Movies, if you have time. My kids (dd 7/ds 5/dd 1) loved that!

I'm planning my first trip to BB/TL since '03 this September, and I found a lot of helpful info and pics by googling Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon review. I don't know if I'm allowed to share the link here, but throw in Disney + tourist, and you'll find the exact post. ;)

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is... do you wear your youngest? We are regulars at our Six Flags water parks, and I have worn my youngest in the water, since she was about six-months-old. Not in an Ergo, because the chlorine will damage the lining, but in a cheap front carrier (mine was Britax, I think). She loves it, especially on the lazy river, and it frees me up to watch the older two (because we usually go when my husband's at work). It dries quickly in the sun, too, so it's not much heavier than normal wearing. I've also tried a carrier specifically for the water, and it didn't work as well as the Britax. Just a thought, in case you have one at home!

We've been to both parks several times. I could never pick one over the other! There's no such thing as too much sunscreen! Re-apply often!!! When we drive from Michigan we bring a cooler and take it into the waterparks with us full of snacks and Pepsi.

Just a warning that DS and I found the opposite - brought water shoes into TL that we'd worn before and both ended up with blisters on our ankles from them within an hour. I prefer not to wear any shoes and just find it more comfortable as a whole unless I'm standing somewhere on hot, dry pavement.

Also, both parks have freshly made, mini-donuts - it says you get a dozen for like $8 but I think every time our "dozen" has been more like 20+ and they literally poured about a full cup of sugar over them (you have the choice) plus you can buy dipping sauces (chocolate, etc.). Makes a great break/snack if you're trying to do several hours but not actually eat a meal in the park.

We've been to TL twice and had a cabana both times. We love the cabana and wouldn't go without one. Since we go in the summer the cabana is invaluable during afternoon showers. We sit nice and dry watching others try and save their towels. The seating is very comfy, the attendant will bring you as many towels as you like, how often you like. You get a refillable mug, cooler of bottled water and the attendant will fetch lunch for you - no line standing.

We always go to typhoon lagoon. If you want a lounge chair , get there early. Also, make sure to make it obvious with a towel or something. Was there last week and watched a guy take another families loungers. They had hundreds of regular chairs. The lifeguard stopped me in the lazy river. Another guy pulled out a three foot black snake from the foliage. It all happened so fast I was impressed.it was a relaxing , fun day.

We also had a cabana at TL in August when it was so so hot. It was a blessing. We had 8 people in it comfortably. They give you towels, refillable mugs, a cooler with water bottles and a locker. You can also rent a lounge chair with an umbrella.

There are shops there in case you forget anything. One of our friends forgot her water shoes and bought a pair there. TL is a lot of fun. Love the wave pool.

Do they let you wear river sandals like teva or keens?

I was at Typhoon Lagoon in April 2013 and I wore my Teva's all over the park. Some of the lifeguards at the top of body slides and such will make you take them off to slide down but I never thought it was that big a deal.

They are invaluable IMO. Without them my feet are killing me by the end of the day with all the rough concrete, the non slip strips or whatever that rough stuff is on the steps leading to slides and let's not even mention the bottom of the wave pool.

That's what I was hoping for, for the cabana. We are going back down in may for my niece's birthday and I was thinking about getting a cabana for the day. There will be 8 of us then!
The store sounds like it has plenty...which is good BC I am bound to forget something no matter what I do

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the cabanas are for a max of 6 people. Maybe someone else knows for sure.
