Two Weeks of Dining with the Aloha Crew, June 2013 - *Complete*

For Lunch we had Friar's Nook.

We got an order of Chicken Breast Nuggets with Freshly Made Potato Chips and an order of Teriyaki Chicken Breast Nuggets with Freshly Made Potato Chips.

Show is the nuggets without Teriyaki, these are your normal Disney Chicken Breast goodness nuggets and those freshly made chips are really good. The teriyaki nuggets were way too salty. I ended up just eating the chips.

Would we eat at the Friar's Nook again? The answer is yes. I would not get the teriyaki chicken breast nuggets.

2 more meals to finish our June 2013 dining report.

I am so excited that I have made it this far. It is great!

We have 24 days until we are at Disney World again for a 10 day 9 night trip. I can't wait to start another dining report for all of you. I have some marvelous meals planned and I can't wait to share them.

I plan to finish up these last 2 meals in the next 24 days before our new trip begins.

Thank you everyone for reading along!

I loved the house made potato chips at Friars Nook. Man oh man, we waited a long time in line there though - we figured we must have waited at least 35 minutes. Fast food? I don't think so.

I completely agree, we also waited a long time for those house made chips and I agree they were very good but very slow service.

Sorry that breakfast sandwich wasn't good. It looked tasty in the picture. How disappointing that must have been! I have been taking notes after reading all about your trip. I have a list of must-eats for our July trip. Thanks so much! I will keep looking for your next food report as well!!! :thumbsup2

Still enjoying your reviews! The fish and chips and ice cream looked especially delicious to me! :thumbsup2

You are Welcome and Thank You for reading along. I hope you have a magical trip in July! Our favorite thing to do was swim in the afternoons during our June trip. It was so hot. I imagine July's heat is turned up a notch! So enjoy pool time. It really helped with eating at dinner time, sometimes it was so hot that is was better to swim and then go to dinner because the heat would upset our tummies at times.

It is a favorite. I have still been reading your reviews and enjoying them tremendously. What a trip of a lifetime!

Our last night at Disney World Thursday, June 27, 2013, we decided to have our second dinner at Via Napoli.

We got the bread and oil but I am not adding a picture here because I don't have one for some reason. I can say that both times we visited Via Napoli, there is someone that refills drinks exclusively and they did an excellent job both times. Our drinks were always refilled in a timely manner. Excellent service.

Shawn and Allison got a Pepperoni Pizza to share.

They loved it and it was as good as the last time we ate here on this trip.

I wanted to try the Family Style House Salad which is served Exclusively with Pizza. This House Salad comes with leaf lettuces, roasted red peppers, marinated mushrooms, olives, peperonicini, red wine vinaigrette.

This was a delicious and light salad. I loved the dressing on the salad, there wasn't too much on it, the dressing was premixed and on the light side but had just enough red vinegar and oil in it. So if you like more dressing, I would ask for extra on the side so you can control how much is on there. I love mushrooms but I didn't enjoy them on this salad, the next time we eat here I will ask for the mushrooms to be removed or pick them out. I highly recommend this salad, if you enjoy it's ingredients and you are looking for a nice light salad.

I then ordered a personal size pepperoni and mushroom pizza.

For some reason, the crust was soggy in the middle on this pizza, I think it could have been cooked for a few more minutes. It kind of turned me off, but since my husband and daughter had ordered a large pepperoni, I was able to eat off their pizza without an issue and we still had plenty to eat.

My son ordered the Spaghetti e Polpettine which is hand-crafted veal meatballs & tomato sauce. I had a bite of this and I wanted to steal it from him. It was very good. I loved the taste of the sauce. If I could have had a big plate of spaghetti with just sauce. I would have been in heaven.

With my soggy pizza, I was so jealous. Too bad the boy eats a lot now that he is a teen or I would have finished it for him. ;)

When we ordered the pizza and the pasta, we were told that they come from 2 different kitchens and it was likely we would receive one of the other at different times. So beware that if you order pizza and pasta, you are more than likely to receive them at different times. Aaron received his pasta first and our pizza followed about 8 minutes later.

We loved Via Napoli, it was delicious! We only have one ADR for our next trip. I wanted 2 but flower and garden outdoor kitchens are out and I wanted to try some of the food offered for these. So I had to give up the second one. it was hard to do.

I think I will try the pasta during our next trip, since I like Aaron's pasta so much. I know Shawn and Allison will order pizza again so I can get more of that lovely house salad.

Our last morning before returning home.

It has become tradition to have a breakfast at Disney World on our last morning. We usually eat at Boma to say good-bye to our beloved Animal Kingdom Lodge. But this time I decided to trade it for an early morning ADR at Crystal Palace. We had an 8:05am reservation.

My husband snagged the famous Pooh's puffed toast and the breakfast lasagna, I think :) I am not a big sweets fan. I tried the Pooh's puffed toast aka elephant ear but I didn't try the lasagna. My husband said the breakfast lasagna was way to sweet for him and he loves sweets. But he did enjoy the Pooh's toast and said it reminded him of an elephant ear like you get at the local state fair.

Another one of his plates.

Scones and more of Pooh's favorite dish.

Allison's Plate

Bacon, Biscuit, and Mickey Waffle - She enjoyed it as always.

Aaron's Plate

Eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, biscuit, and more of dumbo's ears! :)

This is my plate. I must say, I really enjoy bacon and breakfast potatoes. I shouldn't have gotten the Dumbo's ears. I didn't like them, too much sweet for me in the morning. I didn't like the breakfast potatoes here , they were not cheesy enough and were not cooked through. I prefer the breakfast potatoes at Chef Mickey's.

I was also kind of grumpy this morning and I kept crying at breakfast because we were leaving. No ugly cry just a few tears and feeling sad. So I think from now on we will just stick with Boma and then head to Magic Kingdom afterward to say good-bye. I can control myself a Boma, too much sensory overload in the Magic Kingdom and my husband is no longer allowed to talk about going home until after we leave that afternoon. :sad2:

We probably will not return to Crystal Palace for a while. We didn't enjoy our dinner or breakfast as much as in the past. Maybe we just need to give it a break for a while.

So we did take one last ride on BTMRR.

We had one of our best vacations yet. We loved most of our food on this trip and it was also our first trip without the DDP and using tables in wonderland instead.

Highlights! Trail's End and Via Napoli! Our favorite breakfast was Wolfgang puck express, Boma, and Chef Mickey's. We also loved our day at the Beach Club for Father's Day and our Breakfast and Dinner at Cape May!

Thanks for reading along! See ya next time!

:thumbsup2

Great reviews! I love the nachos in Mexico as well! Too bad about the soggy pizza, everything else sounds amazing at VN.

Joining in because I can relate to your kids food choices and I was looking for reviews on places that offer some of my DD4's favorites: Mac and cheese and chicken nuggets.
Can't wait to read more of your reviews.

Have loved reading your reviews, got a little teary eyed at the end as I too cannot contain my emotions in our last day. Looking forward to reading about your upcoming trip!
