I was thinking of borrowing a set of those two way radios so I can keep in touch with family members while at the park - has anyone had any experience? Is the reception any good - how far is the range? Any info would be appreciated! thanks

Carol Mc,
We took ours but didn't end up using them in the parks. We did however use them when we were staying at the Sheraton Studio City & DH went over to Wet N Wild one morning to get tickets & I stayed in the room with the kids. Worked fine....but I couldn't tell you exactly how far the range was. Just a hint too....if your kids will be on them, make sure they call you by your first name. Two years ago in Disney, my DS kept paging me with "Hey mom!" You won't believe the number of replies we kept getting. :p

Cell phones might be a better idea. They are smaller, and fit in your pocket. The radios I've seen are big and bulky.
Our plan covers all of Florida, so the calls were free. If you have long distance on your plan, it may be an idea. plus you'll only need it a few times, so even if you pay for the call, it would only be a few dollars, which is far less then renting the radios.
