Two Veil Bride

So we've all heard of a two dress bride. But are there any two veil brides out there?

I originally purchased my veil from ebay. Its just a simple one tiered plain white veil with a shimmery silver edging. I added some crystal hidden mickeys on it. But now I'm debating on whether or not I want to get a fancier veil. Maybe with some beading on it or something. I only spent $18 on my veil so its not like I'm out a lot of money. I'm just not sure if I should go and spend $100 on a different veil or just stick with the original one.

Anyone else come across a similar problem?

I was a two veil bride. I LOVE simple veils and yours sounds like it is simple elegant and fun.

I bought a long (about 110 inches) 1-tier ivory cut edge veil from Ebay for $25 and then bought another even longer (about 150 inches) one online for $60. I loved the longer veil, but when I got caught in the rose bush walking down the aisle at SBP, I started having second thoughts. :confused3

Also, I think I remember that your dress has some detail work. I hope I'm remembering correctly. I can't see pics at work. But if it has a lot of detail, you really don't need a veil with a lot of detailing.

I also purchased an inexpensive veil from ebay and it has some crystals on it and it is very pretty. This was just my "I'll see" veil. I did bring it to my hair trial. Now, I have been reading Lynn's trip report and just LOVE her veil. I believe I saw you ask her about it on her report. I pulled up the website she said she purchased it on and found the veil she used and I might order this one. I just LOVE it and love the crystals around the edging. It is a Bel Aire veil and I have seen these in bridal shops and they are very expensive and I think they are less expensive on the website. I think I am going to purchase a veil from there (probably the one she used) I just want to check some photos of my dress again to make sure it will look right. I love the way her veil and tiara match and look like a flower design.

I was planning on borrowing a tiara from my DF's niece and although it is beautiful it is not 100% what I want and I can see myself many years from now looking at pictures and not being happy. You will only be doing this once, get what makes you happy.

Linda - funny you mention that because Lynn's pictures is exactly why I'm second guessing my veil. Her veil is gorgeous and I love the scalloped edges and detailing on it. I was on that site and the 2 that I liked are about $120. At first I was totally against spending that much on a veil, which is why I bought mine on ebay. But after I saw Lynn's veil - I'm just all confused now.

Nikki - you are right. My dress does have a lot of detailing on it which why I'm not sure if I should buy another veil. I think I'm going to wait until my dress gets in and go for my fitting with my current veil before I go running around buying new things.

Seeing her veil is making me want it also. My dress has a sweetheart neckline and it think the scallop edges of that veil would look nice with a sweetheart neckline. The one I have at home has a narrow ribbon edge and I think the scallop would look nicer.

i wore 2 veils for my wedding (birdcage and cathedral) and actually ended up purchasing 4...

:rotfl: Caryn I didn't know you had 2 other veils. What did they look like?

Linda - I think the veil will look great with your dress. Especially with the sweetheart neckline. My dress is a straight across strapless so I don't know if it will match.

I was a three-veil bride, and then I chucked them all and became a two-fascinator bride! :rotfl:

oh wait, if the fascinator counts, i wore 3 and bought 5...

i bought the three things i wore, then the other was a gold veil with gold embroidery and beaded things on it to match dress #1. i returned it, then ended up with another, fingertip veil with pearl and swarovski accents that i didn't wear. i gave it to lindsay. maybe she'll wear it for her reception.

That veil is sitting in my closet. I don't think I'll wear it to the reception... its white and my dress is ivory.

If ever I am worried about buying too many of something I think about Caryn. And I decide I will buy it! You can always sell one of them back on e-bay or try to return one. Or donate it or something.

Giving it away or donating it is a good idea. If I end up with a new veil I just might offer a disbride on here who needs a veil --hidden mickeys included :rotfl:

Speaking of donating things to a disbride...
In my closet I currently have Caryn's:

pink crinnie
hoop skirt
veil
2 bride shirts
1 bride sweatshirt
2 tiaras
leftover mickey bubbles
cards which say "To my husband/parents/etc on my wedding day"
stickers
postcards
several different shades of tulle
a garter she attempted to make then thought i'd like....

I'm sure I'm forgetting things.

My sister wore 3 veils...2 for the service and a different one for the reception! In fact, I accidently ripped the cathedral length one on a dumpster! oops!! At least she had back up;)

I am currently a 3 veil bride and it is very possible that I purchase several more. If you are not feeling it for the current one you have, I saw get another one. You could probably resell them on ebay later on.

:scared1:
How funny, the first thing I thought when I saw Caryn's post was "Why am I not surprised?"

*no offense, because I LOOOVED your fascinator, wrap, dress, everything!*

Don't worry! Any extras we can always save and try to force on your sweet sister aka MOH who may end up getting married in shin guards and soccer shoes....:lmao:
