Your cast of characters: Me, Skye DGD8, Lynn my friend/coworker & first timer.

Before we hit the sack the night before, we'd discussed where we'd go today and decided we'd try early entry at Animal Kingdom. I'd never tried EE at AK before and thought it would be a good thing to get some stuff done early since the park gets hot/crowded so fast. We bypassed the Boardwalk Bakery in favor of the HOT cinnomon rolls at Tusker House in AK and made our way to the Boardwalk bus stop. This would be our first experience with the buses from BW and we arrived there at 7:15am. There were already two families there who said they'd been there since 7am so I figured we'd see the bus at any moment. The longer we waited, the crowdeder the bus stop became. A bus for MK came & went, but there was only one family going there. A bus for "Character Breakfast" came and only one family got on. I knew there was a character breakfast at AK too, so I thought we might could ride this but, but I was told no breakfast PS no entry. So we all sat/standed/fummed and waited for the AK bus until it finally showed up, already 3/4 full from it's stops at Swan/Dolphin & YC/BC, at 7:55am. The crowd, some 50-60 strong, stormed the bus leaving my crew, one of the first to arrive, in it's dust. We would not be taking that bus to AK and since we'd have to wait for another to arrive and since it was already time for AK to open, it just didn't make any since to wait for the AK bus at all. Disappointed, we made our way to the Boardwalk Bakery and sat and ate cold cinnomon rolls before walking over to Epcot for the day.

I searched my feeble brain for my best Epcot stratagy. Once in, we made our way, walking, not running, to Test Track where we obtained a Fast Pass. This accomplished, we passed by Mission:Mars wishing we could take a spin on that baby this morning. It sure would've made up for the disappointment of the AK bus thing. But, there wasn't even a CM lurking in the bushes guarding the entrance as there was the other night. We made it on to the Energy Pavillion, but it wasn't open yet. We passed the time talking to a DVC family with an 18 year old girl wearing dogears, miniskirt & knee socks. She sat with her legs spread reading the newest edition of Harry Potter while the rest of her family acted like it was the most normal thing there ever was. Skye apparently didn't find anything amiss as she sat down with her and struck up a Harry Potter kind of conversation with her as Lynn & I tried to stiffel our snickers.

I like the Energy attration. I like Ellen even before she came out of the closet and still like her despite of her sexual orientation. I liked the TV show too. After Energy we made our way over to Test Track. On the way I explained to Lynn how this would be my first ever ride on Test Track too as every other time I had tried to ride it it was broke. Well, it was broke this time too. I stashed our Fast Passes in hopes of catching it later. We went to the Imagination Pavillion so Skye could ride Journey into your Imagination again. She really liked it on our first night. We sent picture emails to DD & the office where Lynn & I work....again.

Afterwards we got started on World Showcase by hoping the boat over to Germany. We'd already covered UK & Canada so I figured we'd start at Germany and work our way to the International Gateway then call it a day for the afternoon. We browsed the shops & took pictures in Germany then decided to eat there too. We didn't have a PS but got in with no problems and enjoyed our lunch there very much. In Japan, Skye wanted to pick an oyster and her oyster had two pearls in it. The Japanease lady made a good show of how special it was and made Skye feel like she'd just won the lottery. I decided since she had two pearls she just had to have some earrings made so we left the precious pearls behind to get the work done. We tried a Kaki Gori (sp) there too and it was very good. In Morroco Skye got a henna tattoo around her ankle and Lynn found some things in the shops there too. I bought some perfume in France on our way past as we headed back to the Boardwalk.

I was a bit concerned that, since we'd skipped going back to MGM to see Fantasmic the night before, we wouldn't get to see it this trip. I had read some thread titles about seeing Illuminations & Fantasmic both on the same night but since I never thought I'd ever find myself needing to do that, I never clicked on the thread to see if it was possible. Now I wondered that question myself. We rested up a bit & got showers then headed back to World Showcase for our 6pm PS at Restaurant Marakkesh in Morraco. We didn't care much for the food here and the waiter seemed confused the whole time, but Skye enjoyed dancing with the bellydancer. We picked up Skyes earrings in Japan and saw the show in the American Pavilion (where I cried), saw the movie in France, then staked out a spot for Illuminations on the bridge by the International Gateway. Illuminations was awsome but the wind was blowing ash/smoke in our faces. We squinted and watched anyway, because you just have to. Afterwards we hopped on the boat to MGM and arrived in plenty of time to see the late showing of Fantasmic! I think Lynn & Skye thought I was nuts and Skye even fell asleep on the way there, but afterwards Lynn said she was really glad she got to see it.

On the boat going home, our captain/boatdriver guy had us stalk a family that was walking home and when we got close to them he turned on all the boat lights and everyone on the boat yelled "Aloha!" to them. It was a hoot but I guess you'd have to have been there to appreciate it.

All in all it was a good day even though it started off kinds wrong. Stay tuned for my Zippa dee doo dah tip for the day on where NOT TO PUT MOLESKIN coming up tomorrow!!

Thanks for sharing ~ Wonderful reviews!!!!

Glad to hear the day ended up fun after a rocky start.

How did the family walking back from MGM react?

They got a big kick out of it! A couple of the kids (teens) started running...I guess trying to beat the boat.

:D I think she is great also! Have you heard that she is going to have a talk show starting this fall? I'm looking forward to it.
