I always just ask the casts member at the first tap point if they are using the second. Simple and quick.

It’s not constant. Sometimes secondary tap points are covered up, sometimes they are operational.

If they have magic bands/cards just take them with you to tap in. They don't have to go in line.

You should also be able to modify the LL selection and drop those who aren't riding. This doesn't work if the ride in question is your first ride of the day and you're trying to unlock additional Tier 1 options and park hopping.

It varies from day to day and even hour to hour based on crowds, staffing, etc., in my experience. No way to know for sure until you get there. You can ask the cast member at the entrance though and they will tell you.

Yes, SDD traditionally uses 2 tap points.

From our trip 2 weeks ago, it's very easy to tell. If you tap in, go to the app and try to book another LL and it won't let you, there probably is another tap point ahead of you. This was very consistent for our trip. Once we tapped in, I went straight to the app to try and book another LL. The times I couldn't, there was another tap point ahead.
