Two SW questions

My son, who is 16, is traveling alone from SA to Nashville - his first solo flight. Can I or his father go with him to the gate, or do we have to separate @ security?

And can he take his acoustic guitar on board?

Typically 1 adult may go with a minor to the gate. You need to stop at the ticket counter and request a pass.

On the other end of the trip 1 person can normally meet the plane at the gate...again, stop at the ticket counter and request a pass.

Note, the reservation should indicate it is a person age 16 traveling. Call SW to have them enter it.

I've seen folks taking all sorts of musical instruments on the plane.

Thahks for your response. His ticket already identifies him as a YT (Youth Passenger).
